Chapter Ninety-One: The Underground Royal Palace, Part Ten
Everyone held their breath and relaxed.
A succession of lights flared across the group as each person advanced.
Peng Qingyu rose from the middle of level six to the peak of level six.
Peng Xiaoyu climbed from the middle of level eight to the peak of level eight.
Xingyun advanced from the beginning of level eight to the middle of level eight, and Xiaoying rose from level two to level three.
As for Zhaocai, it had grown a little larger.
Although Situ Tengyi had not cultivated at all, all of his spirit companions had advanced, and he himself had naturally risen from the peak of level eight to the beginning of level nine.
"That feels wonderful!" Peng Qingyu was the first to stand up. Her appearance had changed somewhat as well, making her look even sweeter and more alluring.
Peng Xiaoyu had become even more delicate and lovely.
As for Situ Tengyi, he had grown even more handsome.
Luo Xia marveled inwardly. So advancement could be such a delightful thing; not only did strength increase, even one's appearance grew more beautiful.
"Why has the spiritual power suddenly vanished?" Peng Xiaoyu asked, looking toward Situ Tengyi.
Because everyone had been wholly focused on cultivating, they had remained vigilant only against danger. They knew nothing of Luo Xia taking away the nine advancement herbs.
Situ Tengyi curved his lips faintly. "Is spiritual power something you can absorb without end? If that were so, would you all not become immortals?"
"What a pity," Peng Xiaoyu said with a sigh. If only he had a little more spiritual power, he was probably on the verge of reaching level nine.
Peng Qingyu also sighed. "I was just a tiny bit away from reaching level seven. Level seven, can you believe it?"
After speaking, she cast a triumphant glance at Luo Xia, eager to make her feel inferior.
But how could Luo Xia be so easily defeated?
She smiled lightly. "Congratulations, Miss Peng. Though this stop yielded no treasure, you did advance."
"Hmph. Someone without spiritual power like you could never understand our success!" Peng Qingyu grew all the more proud.
For cultivators, nothing was more joyful than advancing.
A single level's difference was as vast as heaven and earth.
"Master, this hot spring has a spring-eye pitcher. If we can find it, then whenever we want to soak in a hot spring in the future, we can do so whenever we like," Zhaocai said to Luo Xia through telepathy.
It knew perfectly well that Luo Xia had taken the nine advancement herbs.
Luo Xia's eyes brightened at once. "Where is the spring eye?"
"Right at the bottom of the hot spring. But with your meager martial foundation, you definitely won't be able to get it. Call Lord Shadowless to fetch it for you."
"Luo Xia, why have you gone quiet?" Seeing that Luo Xia was distracted and no longer responding, Peng Qingyu grew displeased.
Situ Tengyi glanced at her indifferently, and Peng Xiaoyu promptly pulled his sister aside.
If they angered the prince, the consequences would be unthinkable.
"Snake King, take us to find the fourth treasure," Peng Xiaoyu urged, pressing his authority upon the Snake King.
Although Peng Qingyu did not want to leave, she had no choice but to follow her brother, constrained by Situ Tengyi's power.
"Luoluo, did Zhaocai discover any other treasure?" Situ Tengyi asked after the siblings had gone.
Luo Xia nodded and relayed Zhaocai's words to him.
A smile appeared on Situ Tengyi's handsome face, dazzling enough to outshine a thousand cities.
"Luoluo, watch me."
Holding her hand, Situ Tengyi led her to the edge of the hot spring and said calmly toward the water, "Spring-Eye Pitcher, come out. Don't make me do this the hard way. If I do, I guarantee you will be reduced to dust and bone."
Luo Xia stared, dumbfounded.
Could that work?
At that very moment, a purple clay pitcher bobbed up from the water, surrounded by dense, rich spiritual energy.
It seemed unwilling to submit, hopping and bouncing furiously.
Situ Tengyi gave it a sidelong look and said coolly, "Spring-Eye Pitcher, the nine spirit herbs have already been taken by me. Without them, you can no longer cultivate, can you?"
The pitcher bounced even more wildly, as though trying to vent its rage in that way.
