Chapter 119: Fierce Battle 4
Situ Tengyi bit his lip and commanded, "Go and protect Luo Luo; I will face it for a few rounds."
Since he could not rely on others, he had no choice but to take the field himself. It was not as if he hadn't battled Level Nine magical beasts in all these years.
Pang Qingyu was struck with alarm. "Brother Wuying, no! That spider is too powerful."
But Situ Tengyi paid no heed to her pleas. With a sharp turn, he charged directly into the swirling dust and sand ahead.
Pang Qingyu was nearly paralyzed with fear. She clutched her brother’s sleeve tightly. "Brother, go and call Brother Wuying back! It’s too dangerous!"
Pang Xiaoyu sighed. "Xiao Yu, you know Situ’s temperament as well as I do. Go quickly and protect Luo Xia; I will go to assist him."
"Brother!" Pang Qingyu shook her head violently, on the verge of tears.
"Xiao Yu, be good. Luo Xia is too important to Situ. If even the slightest harm comes to her, I fear Situ will lose his mind. Set aside your personal feelings for a moment; I believe you are a woman of character, don't you?"
With that, Pang Xiaoyu turned and vanished from Pang Qingyu’s sight.
Left behind, Pang Qingyu’s eyes welled with tears. She longed to rush after them, but she knew her cultivation level was too low and she would only be a hindrance. Furthermore, she understood that Luo Xia’s safety was inextricably linked to Wuying’s peace of mind. Biting her lip, she turned and retreated.
As Situ Tengyi charged into the fray, he saw the two spiders using their massive claws to bind everyone who had been swept into the air.
Seeing them suspended and toyed with like playthings, Situ Tengyi sucked in a cold breath. Even the Ancestor of the Luo family, who possessed the strength of an eighth-level expert, was treated like a mere ant in their eyes.
Blood splattered. The victims were spun so violently they could no longer distinguish north from south, and they lacked the strength even to cry out. The spiders were in no hurry to kill them; they were confident that the eleven others would emerge to attempt a rescue, so they intended to torture the captives until they were half-dead.
It was not purely out of altruism that Situ Tengyi sought to save them; he sensed an opportunity. If he gave the group a glimmer of hope, they would surely unite to help him take down the spiders. Moreover, the Crown Prince was among them. If the Crown Prince were to meet with disaster, the Kingdom of Tianyou would inevitably descend into chaos over the struggle for the throne.
Considering these factors, Situ Tengyi decided to act. He swiftly manifested his avatars and had them disguise their appearances, while he himself appeared in his true form. He shed his previous guise, and the moment he emerged, he radiated the overwhelming aura of a powerful master. Simultaneously, his ten avatars completed their disguises, each emanating a similar, formidable presence.
A Level Nine magical beast was equivalent to a human cultivator at the twelfth level, one who had not yet ascended to immortality. Generally, human cultivators who reached the peak of the tenth level had the potential to ascend; if they failed, they would continue to refine their strength, reaching ever-higher levels.
The two spiders felt no threat from the power radiated by Situ Tengyi and his avatars, but the bound captives, sensing this immense aura, widened their eyes in shock.
This power posed no threat to them; on the contrary, it felt like an act of salvation. The group was overjoyed. They had thought themselves doomed, yet a powerful savior had arrived.
"It’s the Prince!"
Luo Yi, with her sharp eyes, caught sight of Situ Tengyi. Her cry drew everyone’s attention. They all turned to look at him.
He was dressed in a pristine white robe, white as snow, remaining unstained amidst the swirling sand. That demeanor, that grace—in all the Kingdom of Tianyou, who else could it be but the Prince?
As they gazed at his obscured, handsome face, it felt as though they were viewing him through a veil of mist. It was hazy, surreal, and yet, he was undeniably, tangibly there.
