Chapter 20: Please Call Me Mistress of the Estate

Ying Shu quickly steadied Cheng Shan’s shoulder. “Why did you stop?”
Cheng Shan replied coldly, “We’re surrounded.”
“Surrounded?”
Ying Shu looked up and saw figures appearing all around them, closing in.
A cultivator spoke up, “Cheng Shan, you have nowhere to run. If you want to leave here alive, hand over the Divine Herb to our Di Tian Sect. We’ll escort you out of the secret realm.”
Other cultivators chimed in, “Cheng Shan, our Xian Feng Sect can not only send you out of the secret realm but also exchange the Divine Herb for various advanced herbs, pills, and magical artifacts.”
Cheng Shan ignored them and whispered to Ying Shu, “Can your snot distinguish friend from foe, or is it indiscriminate?”
If it weren’t such a bad moment, Ying Shu would have explained that it wasn’t really her snot. If her snot were that powerful, they wouldn’t be running.
“This is my first time using snot magic; I’m not sure about its actual function.”
Cheng Shan warned, “It’s extremely powerful. I didn’t ask you to use it, so don’t.”
“Alright.”
Ying Shu took out a deck of golden playing cards. “You run, I’ll deal with them.”
Cheng Shan was curious, “Are these cards magical artifacts? How powerful are they?”
“I don’t know if they’re very damaging, but they might explode.”
Cheng Shan was speechless, “You don’t know anything? Isn’t this your artifact? How can you not know? Can you be a bit more reliable?”
It wasn’t her fault; it was the system’s unreliability.
Ying Shu said nothing and drew four threes, aiming them forward.
The cultivators sneered, not taking Ying Shu seriously.
“Just a Qi Refining Realm cultivator, how dare you act so arrogantly before us? When we catch you, you’ll wish you were dead.”
“Death is too easy for her. She’ll have to kneel and beg us for mercy.”
Cheng Shan hurriedly warned, “You’re aiming mostly at Foundation Establishment Realm cultivators. Your...”
Before he could finish, Ying Shu threw the four threes.
The cards shot out like spinning tops, fast and fierce, sparks flying as they cut through the air.
A Golden Core cultivator drew his sword and flew before a Foundation Establishment cultivator. “These are mere Qi Refining artifacts; one sword can handle them.”
He swung his sword, but the cards didn’t just slice like grass—they cut through his sword’s energy and blade, piercing through his neck and striking the Foundation Establishment cultivator.
Boom—
All four cards exploded simultaneously.
The Foundation Establishment cultivator and those nearby were blasted away.
Everyone was stunned, unable to believe a Qi Refining artifact could be so powerful, hurting so many and even injuring a Foundation Establishment cultivator.
Ying Shu’s eyes lit up.

It had an effect.
Sure enough, playing cards were to be played like in Dou Di Zhu.
Taking advantage of their shock, Cheng Shan led Ying Shu in a swift escape.
The others recovered quickly and gave chase.
Ying Shu drew the 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 of diamonds and shot them out. “Straight.”
The five cards transformed into a red dragon, charging at the pursuers, knocking half of them flying instantly.
Then she threw three fours and three fives.
“Airplane.”
Six cards morphed into a massive golden airplane, firing cannons continuously at the cultivators behind.
Those who could dodge did so; those who couldn’t block the attacks screamed and fell from the sky.
Cheng Shan wiped sweat from his brow. “Impressive. Your cards can even play Dou Di Zhu.”
The rewards drawn from the system weren’t poor, of course.
“Three sixes.”
Ying Shu played three sixes, and the cultivators hurriedly dodged.
It wasn’t that they didn’t want to fight back, but the opponent’s artifacts were too invincible. No matter the spell or artifact, they couldn’t beat her cards.
She asked, “Do you want some?”
Everyone instinctively replied, “No.”
But they had no say in the matter.
The three sixes instantly transformed into three heavenly deities slashing toward them.
Cheng Shan: “...”
He suddenly felt like he wasn’t running for his life but playing Dou Di Zhu—with life-threatening stakes.
By now, only dozens remained from hundreds, all fearing Ying Shu’s cards. They shouted, “You brat, if you have guts, show your name!”
Ying Shu retorted, “Call me the Landlord.”
Everyone was speechless.
Cheng Shan couldn’t help but laugh.
That laugh nearly injured him internally.
He almost lost balance and fell.
A Golden Core cultivator, unwilling to let them escape—especially the detested “Landlord”—released his pressure and attacked Ying Shu.

Cheng Shan was focused on flying and didn’t notice the ambush.
Ying Shu suddenly felt a sharp pain in her head, as if something was attacking her brain—just like Su Xining said, a psychic attack.
She squinted and tried to counterattack with her own mental power.
Immediately, the Golden Core cultivator screamed in agony.
The others were bewildered.
After the pain faded, Ying Shu used her psychic power to control the Golden Core cultivator.
His expression became vacant. Suddenly, he grabbed his sword and stabbed at a Nascent Soul cultivator nearby.
“Ah—”
The Nascent Soul cultivator couldn’t believe the small Golden Core cultivator was trying to kill him and furiously struck the Golden Core cultivator’s dantian.
Ying Shu seized the moment and unleashed a psychic assault on the Nascent Soul cultivator’s spirit sea.
The Nascent Soul cultivator screamed again, then with a bang, his head exploded.
Everyone was shocked.
Cheng Shan noticed the fluctuations around Ying Shu. “Was that you?”
“Yeah, I’m attacking them with psychic power.”
“Psychic power?”
Cheng Shan was stunned. “You’re a Qi Refining cultivator and can attack Nascent Soul cultivators with psychic power? How?”
Ying Shu said, “Probably because my psychic power has reached level three.”
Cheng Shan: “...”
He didn’t know how advanced level three was, but if she could attack Golden Core and Nascent Soul cultivators, it must be quite high.
With Ying Shu’s playing cards protecting them, they smoothly reached the exit.
[Ding] Congratulations on completing the mission. You have earned 10,000 merit points and 10,000 score points. Would you like to draw a lottery for an upgrade?
“Huh? I actually finished the mission.”
Ying Shu saw her body turn translucent, with a horde of pursuers behind. Without hesitation, she threw out the last pair of jokers. “Rocket Bomb.”
At the same time, she slipped a rookie talisman into Cheng Shan’s hand.
“Doctor Cheng, protect yourself—don’t die.”
With a tremendous explosion, all the cultivators were defeated, and Ying Shu vanished before Cheng Shan’s eyes.
