Ying Shu was overjoyed when Cheng Shan gifted her the marrow-cleansing pills. She quickly took out her phone and glanced around to make sure no one else was nearby before accepting the pills. Two pills then emerged from the phone, hovering above the screen. She swiftly put them away in her bag. When she reached out to hold Xixi’s hand again, she noticed the little girl was gazing at her with sparkling eyes.

“Angel sister, is this magic?” Xixi asked.

Ying Shu placed a finger to her lips and whispered, “This is our secret. Don’t tell anyone.”

Xixi nodded earnestly.

There were still three people at home to take care of, so Ying Shu had no choice but to bring Xixi back with her.

Qi Zhen returned after being away for two days, but she was exhausted. After cooking and eating a few bites, she went back to her room to rest.

Only Ying Yu and Ying Xing remained in the kitchen eating. When they saw Ying Shu bring Xixi home, curiosity got the better of them.

“Sis, who is she?”

Xixi timidly hid behind Ying Shu.

Ying Shu explained, “She’s the daughter of a friend of mine. Something happened at her home, so I’m taking care of her for a few days. Her name is Qin Wanxi, but you can just call her Xixi. Xixi, these are my younger siblings. You can call them brother and sister, alright?”

Xixi remained silent, still hiding.

Ying Shu gently rubbed her little head, then took out two pills and placed them before Ying Xing and Ying Yu.

“Take these first.”

Ying Xing and Ying Yu picked up the pills, examining them curiously.

“What kind of medicine is this?”

“Marrow-Cleansing Pill.”

“That sounds like something out of a novel.”

They exchanged a glance, then popped the pills into their mouths. The pills dissolved instantly.

“Go quickly to the bathroom and squat down.”

“We’re fine. Why do we need to go to the bathroom?”

Ying Xing and Ying Yu were puzzled, but the next moment, stomach pains seized them.

Without any prompting from Ying Shu, they rushed to the bathroom.

Soon, a foul stench seeped through the cracks, worse than any smell Ying Shu had ever encountered.

Xixi wrinkled her little nose.

Ying Li on the second floor was disturbed by the odor and shouted, “What are you all doing upstairs? Making stinky tofu or something? Why does it smell so terrible?”

Qi Zhen was deep asleep, oblivious to the commotion.

Ying Shu lied, “Grandfather, the toilet is clogged. I’m trying to fix it.”

“Can you handle it? If not, get someone to help.”

“I can manage.”

Ying Li didn’t argue further.

An hour later, Ying Xing and Ying Yu emerged from the bathroom, beaming with joy. Their faces, once pale and sickly, now radiated the vitality of youth.

Ying Yu excitedly rushed to Ying Shu. “Sis, I feel like I’m back to before I got sick. My whole body feels light, and the pain is gone. What miracle medicine did you give me? Its effect is incredible!”

Ying Shu smiled warmly. “Besides the pain being gone and feeling lighter, do you notice anything else? Like maybe the leukemia is gone?”

“Well…” Ying Yu’s smile faltered. “I guess that’s something you can’t really feel, right?”

Ying Shu: “…”

She realized she was too overjoyed, asking such silly questions.

“I can tell from my own condition. Look at my chest—the skin has improved a lot.”

Ying Xing eagerly lifted his shirt for everyone to see his chest. Though the skin was still damaged and flesh exposed, the new skin underneath was pink and fresh, with all pus gone. It no longer looked like skin cancer; instead, it showed signs of healing.

“Let’s go to the hospital for a checkup.”

Eager to know the results, Ying Shu grabbed their hands and headed out.

Ying Xing stopped her. “Sis, it’s almost nine o’clock. Let’s go tomorrow.”

Ying Shu checked her phone and saw it was indeed late. Besides, after paying Xixi’s medical deposit, she had little money left and couldn’t afford the examination fees.

“I’ll take you to the hospital once I have the money. Also, don’t tell anyone about this yet, and make sure to keep taking the medicine.”

Ying Xing and Ying Yu nodded. “Should we keep it from Grandfather and Mom too?”

“Let’s wait for the results before telling them,” Ying Shu said, unwilling to let them get their hopes up if things didn’t turn out well. “You used to be woken up by pain all the time. Now you can finally sleep peacefully.”

After they returned to their rooms to rest, Ying Shu took Xixi to bathe and go to sleep. Then she took out her phone to send a message of thanks to Cheng Shan.

At that moment, her phone suddenly chimed.
