Chapter 10: Your Mother Sent Me to Save You
Ying Shu watched in shock as the handsome police officer’s uniform suddenly vanished, revealing a bronze-toned physique. Broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and long, powerful legs came into view, and then there were his buttocks...
"Oh—"
Ying Shu quickly averted her gaze, but soon looked back. Although the man was still naked, she did not look at him this time; instead, she turned to look at another officer. That officer was still fully dressed. Why, then, was the other one...
She stole a glance, then hurriedly looked away again. She rubbed her eyes and looked once more, only to find that the man had returned to his fully clothed state.
Ying Shu let out a sigh of relief, but the very next moment, his clothes vanished again.
Damn it!
Not again!
Is he some kind of pervert?
Wait, no.
If he were truly a pervert, the others would surely have reacted. This meant that she was the only one who could see it.
Ying Shu pressed a hand to her forehead.
Could her clairvoyant vision be acting up again?
She quickly pulled out her phone and sent a message to Su Xining, recounting the incident. The final conclusion was that she lacked control over her supernatural ability; whenever she encountered something she subconsciously wanted to see, her X-ray vision would activate, peeping into the privacy of others without her intent.
Ying Shu felt too embarrassed to face anyone after receiving that answer.
"Ying Shu, have you returned to Blue Star? If you are free, could you please go and check on my daughter? I truly cannot bear for her to suffer for even one more day."
Her daughter was not yet four years old, defenseless, and left to be beaten and scolded by that woman. Just thinking about the scenes of her daughter being abused made her feel as though she were suffocating from the pain.
"Alright."
Ying Shu agreed without a second thought. Business was slow at the shop anyway, and since Su Xining had paid her so handsomely in gold, she was naturally obligated to ensure her client's satisfaction. Furthermore, the matter of child abuse was something she took very seriously.
After arranging things at home, she took a taxi to the Fu Rong residential complex in the Second District of Xiajing.
This had been Su Xining’s former residence. She guessed that since her mother had no money for rent, she would have moved into her daughter's home. She had been farsighted enough to put the house in her daughter's name, fearing that if she ever died, her mother would have no inheritance rights. Moreover, the house could not be sold until her daughter came of age. It was impossible for her mother to sell the property and run off with the money.
Approaching six in the evening, Ying Shu arrived at the Fu Rong complex, only to be blocked outside one of the buildings. Since she was not a resident, she could not enter without a key card.
She had no choice but to go to the community garden, find a spot with a clear line of sight toward the fifth floor, and use her X-ray vision to examine the four households on that level.
One apartment was empty, and in two others, elderly people were looking after children. These children were around ten years old—not the ones she was looking for.
