Six mysterious figures suddenly emerged from the depths of the Blackwind Forest, leading a large pack of giant demon wolves, galloping ceaselessly towards the outer demon wolf horde! At that very moment, Meteor, who had been keeping a close eye on the giant wolves, was suddenly struck by a memory of a battle video he had seen before. His heart jolted, and he finally recognized the true identity of these massive wolves before him:
“Gale Wolves!”
Gale Demon Wolves? Were these the creatures that the six had lured from the Blackwind Forest?
I frowned. These wolves were not something I could handle… their speed was exactly as their name suggested—like the wind!
Too fast!
So fast that I wasn’t even confident I could keep up with them… If I hadn’t sensed the faint tremors and gusts from the forest just in time, the six of us might have been sent back to Frostveil City for free by these Gale Demon Wolves.
Meteor’s exclamation snapped Xiao Mei and the others out of their shock. They all exchanged looks of alarm:
“Gale Demon Wolves? Stone, are you sure?”
“Level 21 Gale Wolves! I can’t be mistaken! I checked online before heading into the Blackwind Forest yesterday—their size, speed, it’s exactly the same as what we’re seeing now…”
At this, realization dawned on me!
Level 21—so the Gale Demon Wolves were second-tier magical beasts. No wonder! No wonder these wolves made me feel utterly powerless before them. The gap in ranks simply couldn’t be ignored, and this wasn’t just one or two wolves, but a whole pack… an entire massive pack!
As we spoke, more and more Gale Demon Wolves came pouring out of the Blackwind Forest, stretching for dozens of meters. The six of us, our initial shock and anger now giving way to awe, could only stare in disbelief!
At least three hundred Gale Demon Wolves—how had those people done it?! Had they drawn out all the Gale Wolves from the Blackwind Forest?
At that thought, a cold sweat slid silently down my forehead…
What in the world were those people trying to do?!

When I looked back at the six, they had already drawn the attention of the demon wolf horde outside the forest. Dozens of Blackwind Demon Wolves, responding to a chorus of piercing howls, turned and charged at them!
At that moment, the mage among them suddenly surged ahead, overtaking the other five, as a translucent layer of elemental energy rapidly formed around him…
The next instant!
A scene appeared that would be forever etched in my memory!!
A small tornado, over five meters in diameter, expanded rapidly, enveloping all six people, and, without slowing, crashed head-on into the charging Blackwind Demon Wolves…
This time, Xiao Mei and Meteor cried out in unison, “Tornado!”
“Tornado Spell”—a third-tier wind spell, both offensive and defensive, not only possessing tremendous destructive power but also weakening hostile magic and physical attacks; additionally, it has a chance to sweep up any non-allied units nearby and hurl them far away!
From our vantage point at the edge of the Blackwind Forest, we watched as the dozens of charging Blackwind Demon Wolves were suddenly lifted high into the air by the tornado, thrown out in all directions; occasionally, wind blades shot forth, only to be instantly swallowed by the rapidly spinning tornado, vanishing without a trace…
Meanwhile, the six, protected by the tornado, charged into the midst of the Blackwind Demon Wolves, cutting through their ranks like a hot knife through butter. The wolf pack, disrupted by the tornado, quickly regrouped and closed in from behind.
The Gale Demon Wolves, following close behind, found themselves blocked outside by the Blackwind Demon Wolf pack…
At this point, Xiao Mei and the others fell silent. Damn, those third-tier veterans weren’t just powerful—they were clever, too.
Such a massive entourage of wolves, and they’d shaken them off with such ease!
Moments ago, the dwarves and giants had been fervently cursing the six, wishing the Gale Demon Wolves would devour them. Now, those same faces had shifted to expressions of shock and bewilderment, staring helplessly at the ever-growing wolf horde, now joined by hundreds more.

If I’m not mistaken, the earlier Blackwind Demon Wolves were likely stirred up by those six as well. Even if not directly, they were certainly involved.
As for why… it probably had to do with some conflict between in-game organizations. As for the specifics, I neither knew nor cared to know.
After all, none of this had anything to do with me… No matter how fierce the battles raged between others in the game, it was no concern of mine. The only pity was that the Blackwind Forest was now clearly no longer a safe place to level up.
“Something’s bound to happen here soon. We’d best leave as quickly as possible!”
At my warning, Xiao Mei snapped out of her daze, nodded gravely, “Kirin’s right. If we get caught up in this, we’ll be in real trouble.”
We skirted the wolf pack from afar and, only when we reached the border of the Whitecloud Mines and were finally free from the threat of the wolves, did I part ways with them.
Before leaving, I received friend requests from all five of them, which I accepted one by one, watching as they walked away.

Once I left the party, I immediately felt a sense of relief—phew, joining a rookie team really was constraining. Not only did I feel more responsible, but even leaving required me to consider the feelings of the others.
Now, finally, I could level up on my own! However… I couldn’t stay in the Blackwind Forest any longer. At least, not until I hit level 15. I simply couldn’t handle even a few Blackwind Demon Wolves on my own!
Besides, there was a great new leveling spot nearby… the Whitecloud Mines!
Yet, just as I arrived at the massive mine pit… the sight that greeted me made my heart sink…
