Chapter 32: King of the Codobeasts

Magic Kodo Beast—just as the name implies, a Kodo Beast that can wield magic! A true magical beast!

Yet, the “Magic Kodo Beast” carries a significance unlike any other among the Kodo Beast clan, for it bears another name: King of the Kodo Beasts!

That’s right, the King of the Kodo Beasts! The Magic Kodo Beast is the sole sovereign of Kodo Beast Valley. Even the mutated Kodo Beasts, whose powers have been greatly enhanced, can only bow and submit before the Magic Kodo Beast!

What compels these mutated Kodo Beasts to yield is not merely the royal bloodline of the Magic Kodo Beast, but its unique ability—a kind of magic exclusive to its kind!

It is said that so long as the Magic Kodo Beast is present, all Kodo Beasts not only gain a significant boost in power, but also seem to become immortal…

Ordinarily, such a level-ten boss would only appear at night, once every three days, patrolling the Kodo Beast Valley and aiding its kin in fending off intruders.

If the Magic Kodo Beast is surrounded by Stone Kodo Beasts and Silver Kodo Beasts with remarkable physical defenses, even second-tier teams would find it nearly impossible to break through their lines.

So the moment Magic Kodo Beast entered the sight of White Day and Big Bear, their hearts sank. Without hesitation, they shouted a warning to the four companions behind them!

“Black Tea, get up here! Leave the inside to those three!”

No sooner had the words left his mouth than three blazing fireballs, each the size of a washbasin, shot toward White Day and Big Bear from left and right.

White Day gritted his teeth as violet battle aura burst from his heavy broadsword!

“Break!”

Though the fireballs’ speed could not match that of lightning, they were still swift, leaving little room for evasion. A sweep of the violet sword light shattered the fireballs instantly!

Boom!

The fireballs exploded, flames scattering in all directions… Some of the fire landed on White Day, leaving black scorch marks on his silver armor.

Yet most of the fireball’s force had already been dissipated by White Day, and the remaining damage could be healed with a minor potion.

On the other side, however, Big Bear fared much worse.

Perhaps because his size and fearsome appearance resembled an ancient beast, the Magic Kodo Beast seemed to pay him special attention. Like White Day, he managed to deflect most of the fireball’s power with his silver-white war hammer, but his target was simply too large. Most of the flames landed on him, nearly igniting the bear fur exposed beyond his armor!

He frantically gulped down a large potion, but already three more fireballs formed above the Magic Kodo Beast’s head, twenty meters away. Big Bear was so furious he nearly lost control. In his desperation, he took another potion, ready to break through the encirclement and bring down the Magic Kodo Beast.

He knew that if he remained where he stood, the moment his potions ran out would be the moment he met his end…

But just then—

The surrounding adult Kodo Beasts suddenly turned savage, attacking with renewed ferocity. Their attacks grew faster, each beast biting and clawing, leaving shallow grooves upon their armor…

The marks grew ever denser! The Kodo Beasts’ assault became increasingly fierce!

Big Bear was startled for a moment, then quickly regained his composure: No matter how strong these beasts were, they couldn’t possibly bite through the defenses of a second-tier Rampaging Bear Warrior—though only at the initial stage, his equipment was excellent, and his physical defense rivaled the top among second-tier players, even surpassing White Day.

Steeling himself, he unleashed “Bear Shatters the Earth” with full force!

A surge of force erupted from the ground, sending twenty-odd adult Kodo Beasts flying backward into the herd.

The battlefield was thrown into chaos!

Yet just as Big Bear moved to advance, White Day urgently shouted,

“Big Bear! Don’t move!!”

Big Bear froze mid-step, once more shattering the incoming fireballs and grumbled, “If I don’t move, am I supposed to stand here and get pummeled?” By now, he was scorched black from three waves of fireballs, looking utterly miserable. After all, his strength lay in physical defense; against magic, he was weaker than White Day.

Even so, White Day didn’t fare much better. After a few fireballs, he too had downed several healing potions.

He too longed to close the distance and finish off the Magic Kodo Beast.

But the facts were clear—between them and the Magic Kodo Beast stood over a hundred adult, Stone, and a few Silver Kodo Beasts!

With their enhanced attack, defense, and speed, these creatures were now even more formidable. If the Magic Kodo Beast couldn’t be dealt with quickly, Black Tea, Scrap Hunter Qilin, and Little Love behind them would be the first to fall, doomed within the valley.

Having said this, Big Bear swiftly glanced at Little Love, still grinding in a corner behind them, and gritted his teeth.

“So what should we do?” He was determined not to let Little Love be harmed under his protection, even if it meant his own death…

As he spoke, his silver hammer flashed with a pale glow, smashing two more fireballs to pieces in midair.

Yet White Day’s reply left him exasperated: “In such a short time, what do you expect me to come up with… Everyone, just think together!”

Upon hearing this, Big Bear’s heart sank: Are we still supposed to be thinking? At a time like this?

He knew that the constant use of battle aura to resist the fireballs had already consumed half his mana. A few more rounds and he’d be drained dry; when that happened, even if the Magic Kodo Beast was within reach, they might not have the strength to defeat it.

Just then, he caught sight of Black Tea, who had arrived behind them. His eyes lit up, but then he remembered that although Black Tea could counterattack with water magic, her defense and health would never withstand a single fireball from the Magic Kodo Beast.

If she were targeted, Black Tea would fall first.

At that moment, an unexpected voice came from behind the three of them: “I have a plan. Everyone, form up! Sister-in-law, use your magic to lure it over…”

At these words, the three of them were instantly invigorated, their eyes shining with hope!
