Chapter Nineteen: The Second Summoning
Qin Jing frowned; it wasn’t Jessica after all, but this Jenny seemed to be from the Tio family as well. The G-points he could use were scarce now—his repeated appraisals had consumed quite a few, and only 50g remained. If this summoning did not result in an extraordinary windfall, it would be a losing bargain.
“Summon.”
In the next instant, Qin Jing chose to spend the points without hesitation. Judging by Jessica’s case, even if he summoned someone powerful, the constraints of the GDP would prevent them from harming him. The only question was how much profit he could make.
Amid dazzling light, a seductive, lithe figure stepped from the mirror. The moment she appeared, she laughed aloud. “Hahaha! Great summoner, thank you for your call. I am Jenny Tio, Jessica’s younger sister. For your goods, I am willing to pay an even higher price.”
At those words, Qin Jing grinned. Her intentions were clear: she was trying to undercut Jessica—but that could only work to his advantage.
More importantly, Jenny Tio was also enveloped in a luminous membrane, just like Jessica, subject to the same restrictions.
“This is merely a transaction. I have certain items to sell to the Mythic World, and in return, the Mythic World must pay accordingly.”
Calming himself, Qin Jing spoke with composure. He deliberately looked Jenny up and down. Compared to Jessica Tio, Jenny’s beauty was only slightly inferior, but her allure was far more provocative—one could instantly sense that she was not a woman of upright character.
“Of course, the deal can be struck with anyone, so long as it benefits you.”
Jenny noticed nothing amiss. She simply felt an overwhelming pressure pressing in on her, cutting her off from all outside information and forcing her to rely on her sight alone. Yet that was enough—her eyes were already fixed on a dazzling Tiffany platinum necklace, unable to look away.
“The platinum necklace—I require a complete set of cultivation methods in exchange.”
Qin Jing spoke boldly. He had missed out on a deal with Jessica last time; he would not repeat that mistake, and he had already prepared his pretext.
“A full set of cultivation methods? Hm, so the Earth’s plane truly is as the rumors say—just at the dawn of spiritual awakening, making cultivation methods extremely rare. Although you’re a summoner, I suspect your combat power is limited, so you value combat techniques most highly.”
Jenny analyzed as she observed Qin Jing, but she could use no special abilities, only gauging his reactions through his expressions.
One had to applaud her for her powers of deduction.
Qin Jing did not bother to hide his intentions. “You guessed right. I have no reason to conceal it. Trade is about exchanging what each needs. Also, I want you to introduce the basic situation of the Mythic World to me, so I can determine what goods to sell in the future.”
“A reasonable request.” Jenny nodded. “To show my sincerity, I can first tell you a bit about the Mythic World.”
With Jenny’s narrative, a world very different from what Qin Jing had imagined gradually unfolded before him.
According to Jenny, the Mythic World was the primary realm, and Earth was merely one of its parallel planes. In other respects, her explanation was much like Jessica’s.
Jenny also described in detail the various powers arising during the spiritual revival. She explained that the resurgence of spiritual energy would awaken different attributes in different people, and that the two great frameworks were the Eastern and Western systems—magicka and spiritual force.
The Western system used mental power to shape revived spiritual energy, producing magicka through meditation and establishing the magicka system.
The Eastern system was more complex; it involved guiding the revived spiritual energy into the body to produce spiritual force, forming the spiritual force system.
The two systems were evenly matched in terms of potential and difficulty; progress depended solely on personal comprehension.
“Our Tio family possesses the most advanced witchcraft cultivation methods in the magicka system, but these are suitable only for women, so they cannot be traded to you. However, rest assured, our family has also collected Eastern spiritual force methods. Compared to magicka, spiritual force cultivation is better suited to Easterners, so I trust you won’t mind.”
Jenny’s words were pleasant, but Qin Jing could sense the underlying preference. To this “Westerner,” the magicka system was obviously superior and not something she would part with. So, she offered him the spiritual force methods instead.
Still, for Qin Jing at this stage, any method was better than none, and he wasn’t about to quibble over it.
Of course, he could not agree too easily.
He frowned. “Only cultivation methods you’re less familiar with? Is it a complete system? Up to what level can one cultivate?”
Jenny replied with some embarrassment, “Um, it can cultivate up to the ninth rank.”
No wonder she was embarrassed. From her earlier explanation, below the Mythic Realm was the Transcendent Realm, which had nine ranks—the bridge from ordinary human to superhuman. A cultivation method that could not reach the Mythic Realm was considered quite poor in the Mythic World.
Before Qin Jing could respond, Jenny hastily added, “According to our information, Earth’s spiritual revival has lasted a year, and the strongest individuals have only reached the fourth rank of the Transcendent Realm. The further you progress, the harder it is to advance. So, just by cultivating this method, you could quickly gain power and become unrivaled on Earth.”
“Unrivaled on Earth?” Qin Jing sneered. “You mean an Earth untouched by the Mythic World. You yourself just said that many of Earth’s powers are puppets supported by the Mythic World. If I can obtain this method, what’s to stop them from doing the same?”
Jenny quickly explained, “You misunderstand. Transmitting messages from the Mythic World to Earth comes at a tremendous cost—far beyond your imagination. So…”
“That’s enough. There’s no need to explain further. What matters is whether both parties are satisfied with the deal. For the method you’re offering, you can only exchange it for a Gucci belt.”
With that, Qin Jing selected the least valuable luxury item among his second-hand goods.
Jenny was visibly reluctant. In her eyes, there were at least a dozen different “treasures” by Qin Jing’s side.
“Do you have any other requests? I also brought some tools, such as a magicka maze capable of wide-area defense, or reliable alchemical puppets.”
Qin Jing’s eyes flickered as he looked at Jenny. She responded with a flirtatious smile.
This woman was no simple character.
Qin Jing sighed inwardly. Jenny was very different from Jessica—much more calculating. She feigned urgency at first to elevate his expectations, but in reality, everything she offered was meant to probe him. After all, on an Earth where spiritual revival had just begun, a “summoner” like Qin Jing, capable of cross-space transmission, would naturally arouse suspicion among the truly astute.
Still, this was a deal he could not pass up. For a first infusion of capital, what was a little risk? Once GDP grew, there would be much more he could accomplish.
