Xiao Yi gently patted Song Qian on the shoulder. "Don't worry, I will handle this calmly. I'll report the matter to the school first and have them intervene to put a stop to his bullying. If necessary, I will also resort to legal measures. I won't let him think he can trample on my dignity at will."

Song Qian nodded. "Okay, I trust you can handle it. But no matter what, I will be by your side to support you."

A faint, confident smile tugged at the corners of Xiao Yi's mouth. "With your support, I feel even more confident. Now, let's put these unpleasantries behind us and head to class."

With that, the two walked hand in hand toward the classroom, their figures appearing exceptionally resolute under the glow of the sunlight.

The college entrance exam loomed before Xiao Yi and Song Qian like a towering mountain, and they were determined to climb it together. The small study room they found off-campus became their fortress for preparation.

At dawn, as the first light appeared, they met at the door of the study room as agreed. Once they stepped into that sanctuary of learning, they immediately plunged into the battlefield of knowledge.

Xiao Yi grappled with difficult problems in mathematics and physics, at times scratching his head in frustration, at others scribbling furiously. Every time he solved a tough problem, he acted like a victorious general, excitedly pulling Song Qian over to point at the steps on his scratch paper, explaining with great animation, "Look, with a clever conversion using this formula, it's solved! Isn't that brilliant?" Song Qian, meanwhile, diligently cultivated her world of literature and English, her crisp, rhythmic recitation sounding like the pleasant chirping of birds in the woods.

When Song Qian explained the imagery of poetry to Xiao Yi, she would blink her lively eyes and ask, "Do you know why the willow tree often symbolizes parting in ancient poetry?" Xiao Yi would deliberately tilt his head, feigning ignorance. "Is it because willow trees are easier to draw?" Song Qian would playfully tap his head in annoyance, but Xiao Yi would laugh and catch her hand, saying, "I was wrong, please continue, teacher."

The morning study session flew by amidst the soft scratching of pens. During their lunch break, they went to the park next to the study room. Sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves, casting patches of golden light on the ground.

As they strolled along the path, Song Qian was reciting a beautiful essay she had memorized that morning. Xiao Yi suddenly stopped and pointed at a small pebble on the ground. "Look, doesn't this stone look like a little rabbit?" Song Qian looked in the direction he was pointing and couldn't help but laugh. "There’s no such thing as a rabbit that misshapen." As she spoke, Xiao Yi crept closer and, catching her off guard, planted a light kiss on the tip of her nose. Song Qian’s face flushed bright red, and she made a move to chase and hit him. Xiao Yi ran off laughing, then suddenly turned back to pull her into his arms, and the two dissolved into playful laughter.

Yet, Xiao Yi remained constantly concerned about his health. After the lunch break, he headed to the hospital alone. The stark white walls and the scent of disinfectant always made him feel a bit stifled. Sitting in the waiting area, he silently cheered himself on. During the treatment, even though he felt quite uncomfortable, he thought of Song Qian’s smile and gritted his teeth to endure it.

Once the treatment was finished, he hurried back to the study room. Seeing him return, Song Qian promptly handed him a cup of hot tea. Xiao Yi took a sip, frowned, and feigned disgust. "How come this tea isn't as sweet as your smile?" Song Qian rolled her eyes at him, but Xiao Yi took her hand and said earnestly, "With you here, even studying has become much more interesting. We will definitely get into the same university." And so, they immersed themselves once again in the ocean of knowledge, advancing side by side toward their dreams.
