Chapter 17: Don’t Think I Won’t Scold You Just Because You’re Ugly

Gao Qian looked into Shi Yun’s evasive eyes and instantly understood her thoughts.
He felt deeply helpless, thinking this girl always cared about others but never seemed to mind her own grievances with him.
At the same time, he felt a pang of sympathy—she shouldn’t have to endure these baseless accusations and malicious suspicions.
He sighed softly, nodded, and said, “Alright, then invite her along. Don’t worry about all that nonsense. What matters most is that you’re happy.”
—
The three of them arrived at their usual private restaurant and had just sat down after ordering.
While Gao Qian went to the restroom, Jiang Zhiyu rested her chin in her palms, looking starstruck as she sighed, “It’s been so long since I’ve seen Qian-ge. He’s even more handsome now.”
Shi Yun glanced at her with a faint smile, about to say something.
Suddenly, footsteps approached. Two men and a woman swaggered toward them.
“Oh, isn’t this the eldest daughter of the Shi family? Oh wait, now she’s just an impostor pretending to be the real heiress.”
The man at the front sneered, his gaze roaming over Shi Yun arrogantly.
Beside him, a woman with gaudy makeup but a vulgar air linked arms with him and giggled, “Darling, is this the so-called fake heiress of the Shi family that’s been trending? I heard she’s really nasty, always bullying that actress Ruan Tian.”
Jiang Zhiyu’s face darkened instantly. She sprang up like a mother hen protecting her chicks and shouted, “What do you want? Stop spewing nonsense here. Get lost, now!”
“Who are you? How dare you talk to my big brother like that?” The tall, skinny man nearby looked at Jiang Zhiyu with disdain.
Jiang Zhiyu rolled her eyes, “You bastard, I’m your grandma!”
The tall man was so stunned he could only glare.
Shi Yun raised her head slightly, her gaze cold and clear as she looked at the uninvited trio.
She recognized the leader as Wang He, a notorious playboy in the capital.
Wang He came from a powerful family but spent his days roaming the city causing trouble—a typical second-generation rich brat.
He had long harbored feelings for Shi Yun, often finding lame excuses to get close to her.

Sometimes he would give tasteless gifts; other times, he shamelessly approached her regardless of the occasion.
Shi Yun never gave him the time of day and ignored all his advances completely.
Now that Shi Yun was known as the so-called fake heiress, Wang He saw an opportunity and hurried over, intending to make a move and take advantage of her.
Shi Yun wrinkled her brow at the pungent smell of smoke and alcohol on him and instinctively leaned back, coldly saying two words: “Get lost.”
But Wang He laughed loudly, “Oh? You dare talk to me like that? Do you still think you’re the high and mighty heiress of the Shi family? Now you’re nothing but a fallen pauper. It’s your luck I even look at you.”
His mocking tone and sneering smile made Jiang Zhiyu furious, itching to punch him.
Shi Yun scoffed lightly, her voice tinged with casual chill, “Wang He, don’t think I won’t insult you just because you’re ugly. No mirrors at home? Is your spit matte too? Take a good look at yourself. With such a foul mouth, I bet you don’t even wipe your mouth after sneaking snacks in the restroom.”
Having been strictly raised with etiquette, Shi Yun rarely lost her temper or argued, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t insult when needed.
Wang He, scolded so sharply by Shi Yun, showed no anger, only a playful smile.
To him, this was the first time Shi Yun had said so much to him, and he was delighted beyond words.
His grin grew more arrogant as he leaned forward, the mix of smoke and alcohol scent growing stronger. “Shi Yun, I like your spicy temper even more. The more you curse, the more excited I get.”
Jiang Zhiyu twitched her mouth in disgust, saying, “Are you sick or what? You’re a total pervert! If you don’t leave, I’ll call the cops.”
Wang He laughed as if he’d heard the funniest joke on earth, doubling over before straightening up.
He sneered at Jiang Zhiyu, “Call the cops? You think I’m scared? In this city, there’s nothing Wang He can’t handle.”
“That’s right, you think Young Master Wang is just an ordinary guy?” The woman beside him sycophantically added, rubbing herself against Wang He, “The Wang family is deeply rooted in the capital with vast connections. A mere cop wouldn’t dare offend us.”
Wang He impatiently pushed the clingy woman aside.
She staggered a few steps but kept her flattering smile.
He straightened his clothes and grinned, “Shi Yun, follow me and I’ll make sure you never have to worry about food or clothing again. You’ll still live the high life. What do you say? Think about it.”

Shi Yun leaned back slightly, expression indifferent, no longer insulting him for fear of giving him pleasure. Instead, she took out her phone and said, “Hello, Uncle Wang…”
The moment she uttered “Uncle Wang,” Wang He’s face changed instantly, and he hurriedly stopped her, “Hey, what are you doing? Just kidding, just kidding!”
Shi Yun glanced at him coolly. He immediately forced a smile and said, “Just joking to lighten the mood. You guys enjoy your meal.”
He turned to leave, scolding the two companions, “What are you standing there for? Let’s go.”
After they slunk away, Jiang Zhiyu curiously asked Shi Yun, “Who were you calling?”
Shi Yun put down her phone. The screen clearly showed the home page—she hadn’t made a single call.
Jiang Zhiyu was stunned for a moment, then burst out laughing, “Xiaoyun, you’re so clever!”
Shi Yun casually grabbed a tissue and wiped her hands, saying nonchalantly, “I was about to slap him hard just now, but I worried it would just make him enjoy it more, so I held back.”
These spoiled brats fear nothing but their own fathers, terrified that causing trouble would cut off their financial supply.
So calling Wang He’s father directly was a surefire way to make him behave.
Nearby, Shen Yuezhou leaned against a table, a cigarette dangling from his lips. Hearing Shi Yun’s words, he couldn’t help but smirk.
So this was how she behaved when insulting people.
He hadn’t expected such an entertaining scene right after stepping inside.
The next moment, Shen Yuezhou’s face received a solid punch.
Caught completely off guard, he staggered back several steps, the cigarette falling to the floor.
Sparks scattered.
He instinctively licked the corner of his mouth, a metallic sweetness spreading in his mouth.
His eyes instantly turned icy and piercing, filled with a deadly chill as he looked up at the newcomer.
