Chapter Thirty: Qin's First Encounter with Ye Yun
Lumine nodded in agreement with Ye Yun’s words.
“Exactly! As the Anemo Archon, don’t you think you should pay for the damage your subordinate caused to my vehicle?”
Venti whistled, his eyes darting around evasively.
“Hehe~”
Lumine stared at Venti as he feigned ignorance, speechless at the thought of such a god existing. Venti spread his hands wide.
“Oh my, didn’t I tell you? I have only just awakened.”
“I don’t have a single Mora to my name right now.”
Lumine held out her hand.
“What about Primogems? With your abilities, finding some shouldn't be a problem, right?”
Venti spread his hands again.
“The power of gods comes from the faith of their people. Having been absent from Mondstadt for so many years, my strength is a mere shadow of what it once was.”
Ye Yun didn't believe a word of it. The gods of Teyvat did not gain their immense power by becoming gods; they became gods precisely because they already possessed such formidable strength. The Seven Archons of Teyvat all emerged from the brutal crucible of the Archon War—none of them were weaklings. As for the weak ones, they had long since been reduced to the remnants of defeated gods.
...
Just then, Jean emerged from the city, accompanied by Lisa, Kaeya, and Amber.
“Lumine, what are you doing here?”
Lumine turned and waved at Jean and the others.
“Oh, Acting Grand Master Jean! I’m just getting my vehicle repaired.”
Jean looked toward the camper, where a little girl with white hair was focused on operating a piece of equipment to fix the vehicle. Lumine was curious; wasn't Acting Grand Master Jean busy? How did she have time to come out here?
“Acting Grand Master Jean, how do you have the time to come out? Didn’t Amber say you were always so busy you couldn’t even catch your breath?”
Before Jean could answer, Lisa smiled.
“Of course, it was I who asked her to come. My dear Jean here spends every day sitting in her office handling paperwork; she’s practically rusting away. So, as her good friend, I told her to come out and stretch her legs.”
That was Lisa’s way of putting it, but in reality, she had received reports from the knights that some strange people had arrived at the city gate, and the traveler Lumine was among them. After considering the report, Lisa surmised that the others must be Ye Yun and his companions. That was why they appeared there at that moment.
Lisa looked at Ye Yun and his group.
“Lumine, are these your friends? Won’t you introduce us?”
Paimon flew right up next to Ye Yun.
“I’ll do it! This is Ye Yun, and he was the one who drove away that Stormterror yesterday.”
Ye Yun nodded with a smile, showing his friendliness. Paimon then flew over to Himeko.
“This is Himeko, the navigator of the Astral Express and a good friend of Ye Yun.”
Himeko said gracefully, “Hello everyone, my name is Himeko. It is a pleasure to meet you all.”
Paimon then flew over to Welt.
“This is Mr. Welt, a member of the Express crew.”
Welt nodded slightly and continued guiding Clara in repairing the camper. After finishing, Paimon flew back to Lumine’s side.
Hook was a little annoyed. Paimon, you haven't introduced the Great Pitch-Dark Hook the Great yet!
“Me! Me too! The Great Pitch-Dark Hook the Great!”
Jean looked at Hook, feeling a strange sense of familiarity that she couldn’t quite place. Jean smiled.
“Nice to meet you all. My name is Jean, the Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius.”
Lisa also introduced herself.
“My name is Lisa, a librarian.”
As she spoke, Lisa walked up to Ye Yun.
“Is this Mr. Ye Yun? Thank you so much for your help to our Mondstadt yesterday.”
Ye Yun replied, “No need to thank me. If you want to thank someone, thank Lumine. She was the one who came to me for help.”
Lumine, hearing this, put her hands on her hips and lifted her chin, looking quite proud. That’s right, everyone come thank me! I was the one who called for reinforcements, hehe. Ever since Lumine found a way to recover her strength, her mischievous nature had been fully unleashed.
Lisa covered her mouth and chuckled.
“Then we must thank Lumine indeed. As a token of our appreciation, please accept these Primogems.”
With that, Lisa took out an exquisite little pouch and handed it to Lumine. Lumine took the pouch, looking a bit bewildered. Huh? A thank-you gift just like that?
Lisa said, “Lumine, the Primogems inside are partly a token of gratitude from Mondstadt and partly compensation for your vehicle.”
Jean added from the side, “Lumine, you should just accept it.”
Seeing this, Lumine had no choice but to take it. Lisa turned to Ye Yun.
“Mr. Ye Yun, I heard from Lumine yesterday that you opened a small shop? Might I have a look at the goods you sell?”
Ye Yun smiled and agreed.
“Of course. Guests are always welcome. Once Lumine’s vehicle is repaired, shall we head over to my shop?”
Lisa, naturally, had no objections. Following that, the group chatted by the city gate.
...
About half an hour later, Lumine watched with excitement as Clara finished repairing the camper.
“Waaaah! My camper, you’re finally fixed!”
Lumine ran over to Clara, hugged her, and planted a kiss on her cheek.
“Clara, you’re amazing! Give me a kiss! Mwah!”
Clara blushed from the sudden assault.
“Please... please don’t do that!”
Clara struggled to break free from Lumine’s grasp, but Lumine giggled and hugged her again, planting another kiss.
“Hehe, you can’t run away, Clara! Come on, let me give you another one! Hehe!”
Ye Yun rolled his eyes at Lumine and, with a flick of his hand, used a surge of energy to lift her up as if she were a little chick. Lumine waved her fists, venting her frustration at Ye Yun.
“You jerk, Ye Yun! Put me down!”
Ye Yun said, “Calm down for a second. Look at how scared you’ve made Clara.”
Clara managed to escape Lumine’s clutches and hid behind Himeko. Ye Yun pondered for a moment and decided to buy a shop portal to place in Mondstadt. The Knights of Favonius were certainly high-value clients, and they would surely be very efficient at collecting Primogems.
“Jean, is there a relatively safe place around here?”
Jean thought for a moment.
“Follow me.”
Jean led them into the city. They walked all the way up to the headquarters of the Knights of Favonius. Just as they entered, Ye Yun saw a fiery red figure sprinting toward them.
“Get out of the way!!! Klee can’t stop!”
Ye Yun was struck head-on, but unlike with Hook, he had been prepared this time and managed to stay on his feet. Ye Yun looked at the little one in his arms.
“Are you alright, little one?”
Klee rubbed her forehead.
“Klee is fine. What about you, big brother? Are you hurt?”
Ye Yun shook his head with a smile.
“Big brother is fine.”
Jean looked at Klee with a stern expression.
“Klee! You’re trying to sneak out to play again!”
Klee froze, standing bolt upright.
“Jean... Acting Grand Master Jean~ Klee knows she was wrong~”
