A Fortuitous Guiding Hand?!
Hermione found this luck utterly absurd.
The abode of Lady Misfortune, though situated at a considerable distance from the other demon wolves, was still deep within the heart of the demon wolf realm!
Completely avoiding the wandering, playing, and hunting wolves to reach this place was nearly impossible—otherwise, Hermione would have escaped long ago!
It was hard to imagine how much hardship the boy Ulyrius had endured on the journey.
Ruffling Ulyrius’s smooth silver hair skillfully, Hermione smiled and said, “Ulyrius, I’ve missed you so much.”
Having a companion from the tribe arrive brought a flicker of joy to Hermione’s heart, but she sighed rationally, “But Ulyrius, how do you think we can leave this demon wolf’s land together? We can’t just rely on your lucky guidance again, can we?”
Ulyrius replied devoutly, “Luck led me to find you, and I firmly believe that luck will also point us in the right direction home.”
Ulyrius was also a trial subject from the human tribe who had consumed extraordinary materials and survived by sheer luck. His power was tied to “luck,” and his inspiration was greatly heightened; he often heard sounds others couldn’t and saw things invisible to others.
Most intriguingly, he could occasionally glimpse future scenes in a daze!
This was a genuine ability to foresee the future!
Yet the intense inspiration and the blur between future visions and false illusions demanded a heavy toll—Ulyrius was often mentally disoriented and had to avoid any contact with demigods or dangerous beings.
Ulyrius believed in “luck,” but Hermione dared not.
There was once a brilliant youth named Isariel in the tribe, very close to Ulyrius. Together, they researched the extraordinary materials Ulyrius had consumed, seeking a stable path to the extraordinary.
During a formal trial, Ulyrius ingested a more terrifying extraordinary substance, while Isariel bravely prepared the initial potion Ulyrius had previously taken.
Ulyrius trusted that luck would guide them.
In the end, Ulyrius gained even greater power, capable of bringing calamity and protecting the tribe!
But Isariel tragically lost control, mutated into a monster, fled the lab, and vanished into the vast wilderness...
Many incidents within the tribe proved that Ulyrius’s luck was uncontrollable, passive, and fluctuated wildly.
Sometimes it was extraordinarily strong, other times no better than an ordinary person, making it unreliable and something to be used sparingly.
Yet after the “Isariel Fall” incident, Ulyrius grew extreme, increasingly obsessed with luck, almost becoming a devout priest of “Luck”!

But Hermione and the others knew this obsession stemmed from sensitivity—Ulyrius found it hard to let go of his friend’s sacrifice on the thorny path to the extraordinary...
Such sacrifices were small and common in the fragile human race, sorrowful yet resolute entries in research records...
In this dark era, under the beds of ruthless extraordinary races, lay the piled bones of frail species like humans.
The weak humans piled their own corpses—testing potions on themselves—with the hope of raising a savior to rescue their kind!
Those who ventured on the thorny extraordinary path were treading on the painful bones of predecessors, and perhaps the next moment, they too would become new bones paving the way for future generations...
“In any case, I absolutely will not try to follow lucky guidance to escape unless it’s a last resort.” Despite their good relationship, Hermione firmly declined Ulyrius’s kind offer.
In the past six months, through systematically reviewing memories and knowledge, Hermione had confirmed that her companion in exploring the extraordinary, Ulyrius, followed the “Wheel of Fate” path among the twenty-two divine paths!
Ulyrius’s abilities matched Sequence 6, the “Calamity Priest”!
His powers included Sequence 9 “Monster,” which greatly enhanced inspiration;
Sequence 8 “Machine,” which granted divination and enhanced calculation;
Sequence 7 “Lucky One,” favored by fortune;
and Sequence 6 “Calamity Priest,” which could attract and foresee disasters!
...
Having studied Ulyrius thoroughly and combined with the video story’s introduction to this path’s abilities, Hermione extracted the accurate parts from the research, removed errors, and summarized a fragmented sequence path.
Though it could never compare to the later “Profane Tablet” records, it could relatively clearly guide future human generations.
Ulyrius wished to persist, but Hermione, who cherished life, was more resolute!
Running away from the heart of the demon wolf territory, passively attracting the “Calamity Priest” fate? That’s not escape; that’s sending oneself to death!
Hermione explained, “Besides, my situation here is actually much better than you imagine. A ‘Misfortune’ lady with divine power is sheltering me. Though I can’t move freely to avoid dangers outside her dwelling, I have no worries about safety or food.”
Divine servitude?
Could there be such a benevolent divine servant?
The heavy toil and endless slaughter of humans were actually caused by the gods within those extraordinary races and their divine servants!

Ulyrius’s youthful yet resolute face seemed to harden with determination as he said, “Since Sister Hermione is staying, I will stay too.”
Hermione frowned, pondering. The “Misfortune” lady, likely curious or fond of humans, probably wouldn’t harm Ulyrius deliberately.
Yet Hermione was not certain and could only ask helplessly, “Is this also the guidance of luck?”
Ulyrius nodded firmly, “Yes, Sister Hermione, this is lucky guidance.”
Now, as someone still weak, I have no choice but to trust this luck...
Feeling deeply moved, Hermione cautioned, “But you must be careful with your eyes... That ‘Misfortune’ lady is a high-ranking divine servant. Just one glance at her will cause you to lose control! Even if she doesn’t show her true form!”
From a wooden wardrobe crafted in the current human tribal style, Hermione tore a strip of deep black cloth and handed it to Ulyrius:
“Wrap this around your eyes. Remember, no matter what happens, you must never look directly at a high-ranking being like Lady Misfortune!”
Knowing that Ulyrius had never encountered such a high-ranking entity and was unaware of how mythic forms could horrifically corrupt and destroy one’s spirit—especially someone with such high inspiration as Ulyrius—Hermione kept repeating her warnings.
Amidst these repeated cautions, the “Misfortune” lady, who had not been gone long, suddenly returned.
This caught Hermione off guard; she hadn’t even gathered her thoughts and stared blankly at the unexpectedly early return of the “Misfortune” lady.
When had she come back?
Could she have returned the moment Ulyrius arrived?
That seemed very likely!
The “Misfortune” lady, always clad in elegant black dresses, fixed her gaze on the silver-haired little one at home and spoke calmly and unperturbed, “A human cub? Did you give birth to him?”
Hermione, still trying to organize her words, felt utterly exasperated.
She wanted to curse!
No—she wanted to curse the wolves!
The demon wolf tribe must be mad!
