Chapter 6: Vanish! You Useless Thoughts!
Compared to the races of the Pan-Human Alliance, the Kingdom of the Demon Wolves is saturated with savagery.
Except for the Ancient Gods, the Subordinate Gods, and a few more lucid individuals among them, the demon wolves have no concept of a home. The rest either chase down prey to toy with and slaughter, or doze off upon piles of carcasses, maintaining their most primitive bestiality.
Among the lucid few, "Misfortune" is the only one with a gentle temperament.
The twilight spills over "Misfortune," who is dressed in a black, waist-cinching gown, stretching her tall, perfect figure into a slender shadow. She looks like a goddess descended to earth.
Only, this goddess is currently laden with items in her hands.
They are the meat of ordinary animals and fresh fruits and vegetables.
These are ingredients prepared for Hermione.
At the same time, they are also the ingredients that "Misfortune" personally enjoys.
Living with "Misfortune" to this day, Hermione has never seen her engage in the bloody, savage feeding habits of other demon wolves. Instead, she consumes food processed through roasting, steaming, and boiling—methods developed by the Pan-Human Alliance—alongside her.
"You're back."
Hermione takes the heavy load of ingredients from her, turns into the room used as a kitchen, and begins to light a fire to cook.
Life in the tribe, where food and clothing were scarce, gave Hermione plenty of experience and techniques for preparing ingredients.
Zhou Mingxiang, who lived alone on Earth, also knew how to cook many home-style dishes.
The combination of both has given Hermione quite a decent culinary skill—to the point that Ms. "Misfortune" thinks highly of Hermione’s craft.
As Hermione busies herself before the stove, the other end of the large dwelling contains only the two demon wolves: "Misfortune" and the "Mother of Heaven."
But Ms. "Misfortune" completely ignores the presence of the "Mother of Heaven," lost in her own daze, quietly waiting for Hermione’s meal.
"Misfortune."
The "Mother of Heaven" attempts to perform some of the courtship rituals common among the demon wolves, but what remains of His reason reminds Him that He is currently in human form and cannot execute those movements.
Seeing "Misfortune" continue to ignore Him, the "Mother of Heaven" leans directly toward the dazed Ms. "Misfortune," attempting to nuzzle her. The habits of the demon wolves are savage; they have completely failed to develop the so-called sense of morality found in the races of the Pan-Human Alliance of that era.
Using force is a form of conquest that neither side rejects. It is a contest of who possesses the greater strength.
The strong doing as they please is the current status quo of the demon wolf race.
But the "Mother of Heaven’s" attempt is futile. His abilities are similar to those of Ms. "Misfortune," yet He is completely suppressed by her!
There seems to be an invisible, intangible wall between the two, making it impossible for the "Mother of Heaven" to even approach Ms. "Misfortune," who is right before Him.
If Hermione were present and could understand the silent struggle between the two, she would be able to discern that both of these powerful demon wolves are high-sequence powerhouses of the "Darkness" pathway!
"Misfortune" is a Sequence 2 "Servant of Concealment."
The "Mother of Heaven" is a Sequence 3 "Bishop of Terror."
"Again with this..." The "Mother of Heaven," in His beautiful human guise, pouts with grievance and glares fiercely at Hermione, who has fled to the next room.
He cannot understand why a human form, tailored to "Misfortune’s" preferences, would still be rejected by her.
Hmph!
It must be that weak human failing to wholeheartedly teach Him how to attract "Misfortune"!
Feelings of anger spread within the "Mother of Heaven’s" heart, and in an instant, they ignite His suppressed nature.
His reason, already on the verge of collapse, completely spirals out of control.
The snow-white skin on the "Mother of Heaven’s" right shoulder suddenly shatters into deep black, fine fur, which grows wildly, instantly extending two meters high.
A thin, long demon wolf leg eerily protrudes from this fur!
"What is so good about that human?"
The beautiful woman with black hair now has a long, densely furred leg hanging from her right shoulder, which forces her body into a gruesome, unnatural bend toward the other side.
Her beautiful face, now inverted, continues to speak:
"Can a weak human who doesn't even dare to look at your true form truly withstand your affection?"
"Misfortune’s" expression shifts, but the change is subtle. She merely lifts her head slightly to look at the "Mother of Heaven," who is gradually revealing His mythical creature form.
From the mouth of the "Mother of Heaven’s" petite head, sharp, pointed teeth extend; embedded on the surface of these teeth are tiny faces filled with horror, pain, and malice!
Those are the spirits that the "Mother of Heaven" has devoured and enslaved!
"Can she withstand the excess characteristics you wish to purge?"
At the "Mother of Heaven’s" right waist and ribs, His simple clothing bulges and expands as large masses of flesh erupt from His body like foam, instantly transforming into two more legs!
There are small, dense eyes on the legs, all opening at once to glare at "Misfortune" with venomous spite.
"Does she have the capacity for that?"
The "Mother of Heaven’s" human legs melt away, and His arms become covered in fine, black hair; His entire body is now supported on the ground by four monster legs on the right side.
His torso is flipped over, the skin of his exposed belly tearing open to inflate into a wolf-like spine, with the bloated, right-side demon wolf form hanging from the left side of the petite human female guise.
His inverted head gradually becomes narrow and long.
"She doesn't have that capacity!"
A terrifying roar erupts from the "Mother of Heaven’s" now elongated, narrow mouth!
The roar permeates the entire dwelling, shattering the stone wall that separated Him from Hermione.
But then—
On the face of this demon wolf powerhouse, who is gradually revealing his mythical creature body, a look of distinct astonishment appears!
Behind the collapsed wall, Hermione’s figure is wiped away as if by an eraser, vanishing into thin air in the blink of an eye, without suffering any harm from the roar!
Not only Hermione, but even the ingredients Ms. "Misfortune" brought back are all wiped away and gone!
Seeing this, the "Mother of Heaven," who has completely transformed into an eight-legged demon wolf, finds no prey and can only look out of control at "Misfortune," who stands calmly before Him.
His pitch-black eyes, filled with blood, are brimming with the most primitive lustful impulses. He intends to use the most traditional customs of the demon wolves to conquer the woman before Him who has stirred his desire to procreate.
He roars and charges at "Misfortune."
"Misfortune" shows no sign of anger.
She merely reaches out a fair, white, human hand, gently and tenderly.
Against the backdrop of the eight-legged demon wolf’s massive body, "Misfortune’s" petite hand rests upon the forehead of the wolf’s head.
The "Mother of Heaven’s" runaway nature suddenly turns into emptiness—without a single word, the "Mother of Heaven’s" emotions and desires are all erased by Ms. "Misfortune’s" lifted hand!
The massive eight-legged demon wolf body halts its lunge toward "Misfortune"—He lies down lazily, prostrate before her!
