Chapter 5: Cruise Ship at Sea 4
Someone cautiously spoke up, “We—we won’t do it…”
The manager chuckled, “What does that have to do with me?”
Among the nine workers, there was a tall man in a suit. Glancing at his name tag, his name was Qin Chuan.
Compared to the others, Qin Chuan remained calm. “What if the goods don’t meet the standards?”
“Not up to standard?” The manager curved his lips into a smirk. “You don’t want that to happen, do you? You lowly workers better just do your job quietly. You don’t want to die, and I don’t want my boss docking my pay.”
Mentioning the docking of wages, the manager’s face darkened.
Qin Chuan pushed up his glasses. “We’re working for you, so food and accommodation should be included, right? Where will we be staying?”
The manager shot Qin Chuan an impatient glance, finding him troublesome.
He pulled nine room cards from his pocket and roughly handed one to each person. “Two meals a day. Someone will deliver the food to your rooms. Also, the second floor is where you sleep. You’re just workers—don’t even think about staying in the presidential suite. Newcomers like you always don’t know your place…”
The manager grumbled on, as if haunted by past interns who had made his job difficult.
After distributing the room cards, the manager was about to leave.
Suddenly, Zhao Jinchun asked, “For the mermaid clay sculptures, what’s the first step?”
The manager snapped, “How should I know?”
Zhao Jinchun pressed, “There must be a procedure, right?”
The manager said nothing, merely narrowing his small triangular eyes to stare at her.
Zhao Jinchun spoke kindly, “If we do it properly, it’ll be easier for you to report back, won’t it?”
The manager clicked his tongue. “Troublesome.”
Then he pulled out a sheet of paper and tossed it to Zhao Jinchun. As he left, he cast a curious glance at Qi Yan, his expression growing stranger before he turned away without another word.
At once, the system panels for the nine workers updated simultaneously:
[Content: The Qian Duoduo Conglomerate has invested heavily to build a cruise ship named—Treasure. Treasure is specially designed for wealthy elites; tickets are expensive and hard to come by.
The Treasure cruise marks the beginning of a grand maritime voyage.
Its first docking will be in two weeks—at the Sea City.
To better promote the cruise, Treasure has launched a limited event—the Mermaid Clay Sculpture.
Mermaid sculptures are costly and difficult to craft, making them unpopular among casual buyers.
Yet, no matter how expensive, there are always wealthy customers willing to pay.
Unfortunately, the resident sculptor resigned.
Under pressure, the cruise company has no choice but to commission us, the Unlimited Workers Corporation.]
[Ding Dong]
[Nine interns assigned the task:
Within fourteen days, create four mermaid clay sculptures and successfully disembark after fourteen days.]
...
Eight of the workers were engrossed in their panels, while only Qi Yan idly twirled Zhao Jinchun’s hair between her fingers, bored out of her mind.
Qin Chuan was the first to finish reading. He adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses and fixed his gaze on Zhao Jinchun and Qi Yan.
Qi Yan muttered, “So boring. I want to go back.”
No one really understood what this group was doing here. What was there to stay for in such a shabby place?
Before long, everyone finished reading their panels one by one, and all eyes turned toward Zhao Jinchun.
More precisely, they focused on the sheet of procedures in her hand.
Among the six present, there were five men and four women.
The first to speak was a girl with a ponytail and framed glasses, looking like a top student.
She addressed Zhao Jinchun, “Hello, could you show us the procedure sheet for making the mermaid clay sculptures?”
As for Zhao Jinchun herself, they probably didn’t know she had stirred up quite a few incidents in recent days.
Several people looked at her, waiting for her to continue.
