Chapter 105: The Odds of Victory
A woman of strong character and assertive nature.
"Si Xueyi, your sister’s disappearance has nothing to do with me."
Wen Su’an did not show any anger. His perfect profile was enough to drive countless women into a frenzy. Si Xueyi was currently facing that very profile, yet Wen Su’an did not turn his head, choosing instead to focus on the wall screen, analyzing data.
Though he drove countless women mad, Si Xueyi was not among them.
"Do not let me find evidence. Otherwise, Wen Su’an, even if you were the President, I would drag you into a courtroom."
She picked up her briefcase and left on clicking high heels.
Si Xueyi stepped out of the Wen Corporation building.
"Nuosang, where on earth are you?"
Si Xueyi frowned. Her face bore a slight resemblance to Si Nuosang’s, but compared to her sister, she was far more striking. She was the kind of beauty who grabbed attention at first glance, whereas Si Nuosang was a beauty of the second glance—the type who only grew more captivating the longer one looked.
She was single-mindedly focused on finding Si Nuosang, but as time slipped away, she had already exhausted every method she could think of. Yet, there were still no clues. She had even checked with Wen Su’an today, but he had remained his usual, lifeless self.
She truly felt a pang of heartache for Si Nuosang. She had never approved of Si Nuosang’s involvement with Wen Su’an from the very beginning. The so-called elegant gentleman that Wen Su’an portrayed only ever brought women misery.
She started her car and drove away swiftly. Next, she had to return to Si Nuosang’s detective agency. Could the agency—with its outdated methods and focus on bizarre cases—be connected to her disappearance?
As a lawyer, she had been threatened and intimidated over cases before. It was highly probable that Si Nuosang had offended someone, leading to her vanishing.
Lost in thought, Si Xueyi buried herself in researching those files. Yuan Yiyi, the young assistant at the detective agency, followed behind her, also working hard to find their boss.
The modern-day Si Xueyi was constantly trying to find Si Nuosang, unaware that her sister was no longer in their time.
And the Si Nuosang of the present was facing an even greater danger.
Time: Ancient Era
Location: Liang City
Qin Li stared at Si Nuosang, racking her brain for every possible scheme. If Si Nuosang and Ye Xuan were to vanish without a trace, she would truly be out of options.
Therefore, she had to act swiftly and decisively.
Si Nuosang was also gradually sensing the encroaching danger. The ridiculous "accident" from before had not made her feel safe; rather, it made her feel that a much larger conspiracy and trap lay hidden in the shadows.

Watching Ye Xuan get better day by day, they were preparing to leave Liang City. Si Nuosang could never truly let go of Xuanyuan Juesi; otherwise, she would not have needed to leave at all.
The only reason she was leaving was because of him.
"What is wrong?" Ye Xuan watched Si Nuosang, who had been lost in thought for quite some time, and finally asked.
He did not intend to pry into her affairs, but he hoped she might talk to him. Perhaps sharing her burdens would make things easier for both of them.
"Nothing."
Si Nuosang shook her head.
Ye Xuan had grown accustomed to this same answer and gesture. Si Nuosang always preferred to carry everything on her own shoulders.
"We are about to leave. Do you not want to see him?"
"Him" referred to Xuanyuan Juesi.
Si Nuosang looked at Ye Xuan with a smile and shook her head.
"Him? You mean Xuanyuan Juesi? I don’t think I should see him. It is better to end things this way. Dragging it out will only invite more misery."
Si Nuosang’s answer caught Ye Xuan off guard, and he said nothing more. Just then, a knock sounded at the door. Si Nuosang and Ye Xuan exchanged a glance. Who could it be?
"I will get it." Hearing another knock, it was clear they were at the right room.
She walked to the door and opened it. It was Qin Shuang.
"Palace Master Qin, what brings you here?"
Si Nuosang was on high alert. This woman was dangerous, hidden in plain sight, and held perfect control over her emotions. When she transformed into Qin Li, no one could tell the difference. Her martial arts were also superior to her own; naturally, Si Nuosang had to be wary of such a woman.
"I wanted to see how you are doing. After all, Ye Xuan is one of my subordinates."
"I am no longer one," Ye Xuan said from his bed, watching Qin Shuang.
"I never said I was letting you go."
Qin Shuang looked at him coyly, her eyes practically shooting sparks. Unfortunately, the only people present were immune to her charms.

"What exactly do you want? Whether you let us go or not, I will not let Ye Xuan return, and he will not go back either. Do you intend to kill us?"
Si Nuosang stared at her intensely, one hand bracing against the door, refusing to let her enter.
"Let us go inside and talk."
With a flick of her hand, Qin Shuang brushed aside Si Nuosang’s hand and walked in. Si Nuosang wanted to stop her, but she knew she could not. It was infuriating—she hated her own helplessness, being led by the nose by a woman from the ancient past.
Si Nuosang sat across from her at the table.
"What do you want to talk about?" Si Nuosang asked.
"How are your injuries?"
Qin Shuang did not look at Si Nuosang, leaving her out in the cold. The more one cared about someone, the more one should ignore them.
However, Si Nuosang did not care about such games. To dismiss her as an ordinary person was the biggest mistake one could make. Who was Si Nuosang? Her mind worked faster than anyone else’s, and when facing someone she didn’t care for, her emotional intelligence was higher than anyone’s. Except, of course, when it came to love—in matters of the heart, both her IQ and EQ dropped to zero.
"Palace Master Qin, I have no further connection to the Ming Pavilion. If you have come for my life, then make your move. If you want to chat, I am sorry, but I do not have the time."
Ye Xuan did not want to disappoint Si Nuosang again, so his tone toward Qin Shuang was uncharacteristically firm. Indeed, the current Qin Shuang was a complete mystery to him.
"Ye Xuan, do you know? With my old temper, you would be a dead man by now. But for now, you must stay alive."
Qin Shuang looked at the two of them, seeing their hostility. It was clear that a friendly conversation was impossible. But to let them gain the upper hand? That was absolutely out of the question.
"Get out."
Si Nuosang drew her blade and pointed it at Qin Shuang. She knew this woman hadn't come here without a reason, but no matter what that reason was, she wanted nothing to do with her.
"Do you really think you are a match for me?"
"Ha, I might not be able to kill you, but I can certainly beat you half to death. Want to try? A free demonstration!"
Si Nuosang sneered at Qin Shuang. Her arrogance was truly grating. In truth, she knew she was not this woman’s match. But if it came to a hard confrontation, Si Nuosang was ready to see it through. She had at least a fifty percent chance of winning.
