Volume 1, Chapter 4: So, is this how you trample on someone when there is no love?

Song Qinian’s movement was too abrupt, causing the table to shake and water in the cup to spill over. Flustered, she scrambled to grab a napkin to wipe the table, her face already pale.
It was over—had she caused trouble for Shen Chiyan?
“Oh, it’s just a little water spilled, it’s nothing, really…”
President Liang stood up and grabbed Song Qinian’s hand. Being touched by a stranger made her extremely uncomfortable, and instinctively she tried to pull away from President Liang’s grasp, but then she heard Shen Chiyan’s cool voice: “My assistant is clumsy and made a fool of herself.”
Song Qinian looked toward Shen Chiyan. He lounged lazily in the main seat opposite, a faint, enigmatic smile playing on his lips. His eyes, cold and sharp as ice, met hers. Her heart skipped a beat, and she didn’t immediately free her hand from President Liang.
Watching President Liang wiping the water from her hand while shamelessly taking liberties, Shen Chiyan’s dark eyes grew colder and more menacing.
Afterwards, everyone acted as if the little incident had never happened and resumed their business discussions.
While talking to Shen Chiyan, President Liang’s hand remained restless. Song Qinian felt disgusted and kept dodging him, but he not only didn’t restrain himself—he became even bolder.
Helpless, Song Qinian turned to Shen Chiyan, hoping he would rescue her.
Yet Shen Chiyan didn’t even spare her a glance.
His hand tapped the table rhythmically but intermittently—anyone familiar with him knew this was a sign of his irritation and anger.
The others chatted enthusiastically, but Song Qinian felt like she was sitting on needles and pins. She dared not move too much, afraid of disrupting Shen Chiyan’s negotiations, yet she also didn’t want President Liang to take advantage of her.
It was unbearable.
As the meeting neared its end, President Liang suddenly draped his arm around Song Qinian’s shoulder. “President Shen, I’m quite interested in learning sign language. I wonder if your secretary could teach me sometime.”
Song Qinian shot a sharp look at Shen Chiyan. Though she didn’t understand the tangled rules of the business world, President Liang’s words were clearly inappropriate.
After all, she was Shen Chiyan’s wife—he wouldn’t just hand her over to President Liang, would he?
Shen Chiyan’s face remained expressionless. Her heart pounded wildly, her eyes pleading desperately.
Yet in the next moment, Shen Chiyan smirked faintly, “Of course, President Liang, feel free.”
In that instant, Song Qinian heard the sound of her heart breaking.
She knew Shen Chiyan hated her, but she never imagined he would so easily give her away to President Liang.
So being unloved meant she could be so utterly discarded?
Struggling not to follow President Liang, Shen Chiyan suddenly approached and patted her shoulder. “Secretary Song, President Liang rarely takes the initiative to learn sign language. Don’t disappoint him.”
Then he leaned close to her ear and whispered coldly, so only she could hear, “You want your father to get medical parole, right? Serve President Liang well, and I’ll agree.”

Song Qinian froze, staring at Shen Chiyan’s cold and cruel face. Her heart felt as if it were being torn apart, pain so suffocating she could barely breathe.
She clenched her fists tightly, her reddened eyes fixed on Shen Chiyan. In the end… she resigned herself and relaxed her grip.
Her father was gravely ill and needed medical parole.
Besides, if she didn’t obey Shen Chiyan today and offended President Liang, Shen Chiyan wouldn’t spare her either.
Song Qinian clenched her fists again, tears threatening to fall.
“Haha… President Shen is indeed generous. Regarding the cooperation, I can lower the price by two more points.”
President Liang left the private room with Song Qinian draped around him, his loud, triumphant laughter ringing in her ears like the cackling of a demon.
Shen Chiyan’s gaze darkened and grew obscure as he watched them leave.
Once inside the room, President Liang eagerly began pulling at Song Qinian’s clothes.
She was pushed onto the bed, like a soulless puppet.
He tore at her clothing, and upon seeing the dense kiss marks on her chest and body, he suddenly burst into wild laughter.
“I knew it! With someone like Shen Chiyan, how could he not have touched such a gem!”
Perhaps hearing Shen Chiyan’s name snapped Song Qinian back to reality, and she struggled fiercely.
No!
Even if Shen Chiyan didn’t love her, she wouldn’t let anyone else touch her!
“Oh? Just now you were like a little lamb, easy to take, and now you’re playing the chaste maiden?”
Song Qinian couldn’t speak, only pushing him desperately. But President Liang was tall and heavy; she was no match for him.
“What’s this? Still chasing after Shen Chiyan? Didn’t you see he already gave you to me? Haha… Shen Chiyan sure knows how to play games—getting himself a mute assistant!”
“Mmm…”
Let go!
Let me go!
Help me!
Someone, please save me!
Song Qinian screamed silently in her heart but couldn’t utter a sound.
She hated being mute beyond words.
Then again, even if she weren’t mute, screaming her lungs out now wouldn’t bring anyone to her rescue.

Despair and fear threatened to drown her entirely.
President Liang, caught up in excitement, was ecstatic. “I’ve never been with a mute before. Today, I’ll see how loud you can scream in bed!”
Because Song Qinian struggled so fiercely, President Liang slapped her twice across the face.
Her head buzzed, and blood trickled from her nose.
As her clothes were about to be torn to shreds, Song Qinian managed to grab the nearby lamp. Summoning all her strength, she struck President Liang hard on the head.
“Ah…”
President Liang screamed in pain, instinctively clutching his aching head. Seeing this, Song Qinian pushed him away fiercely, kicked him in the groin, and fled the room.
“Stop! Bitch! You stand right there! IfI'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
