Volume 1, Chapter 6: Does the Company Have Dormitories?

Sometimes a woman’s mind works in strange ways—she neither wants the other party to be too forward nor truly indifferent. After such a flirtatious encounter, seeing Li Ya turn and leave directly, Xiao Yudie’s heart felt strangely empty.
Li Ya rushed out of the office and headed straight to the public restroom to wash away the sweat on his hands. The scene just now had been so intoxicating that he nearly lost control. Fortunately, having just gone through a broken relationship, and continuously reciting a calming mantra, he forcibly suppressed the impulses within.
“This woman is simply a demon...” Li Ya muttered. Just as he left Luo Shen Group, his phone rang. Seeing the caller ID labeled “Darling Wife,” the smile on Li Ya’s face vanished instantly. The previously restless energy within him stilled, replaced by an overwhelming sense of disgust.
He had once been devoted to that woman, willing to abandon everything for her, even his promising career. But in the end, it had been nothing but his one-sided yearning.
Li Ya sneered coldly, deleted the contact, and blacklisted her. He regretted wasting his feelings on such a person all those years—it had truly blinded him.
Soon after, another unknown number called. Li Ya glanced briefly and recognized it as Zhao Qi’an’s. Without hesitation, he hung up again. He never wanted to see that pair of scoundrels again.
Before marriage, Li Ya still held a glimmer of hope for Su Yunjin, but the events of their wedding night severed all his lingering thoughts completely.
Li Ya was never indecisive, but this relationship had left him confused. The wise do not drown in love; Su Yunjin had now kicked him out of the river of love herself.
After regaining clarity, Li Ya returned to his usual calm and cold demeanor.
Buzz, buzz! Not wanting to hear the ringtone, Li Ya switched his phone to vibrate, but to his surprise, it kept vibrating even after he hung up.
This time the caller was another stranger. Frowning, Li Ya answered.
On the other end, Su Yunjin’s anxious voice came through.
“Li Ya! Where did you run off to? Leaving me behind like this—what do you mean?!”
“We already had the wedding ceremony, even if we haven’t registered the marriage. Do you really want to break up with me?”
“Li Ya, you’re an adult now—why are you sulking like a child? Can you act like a mature man?”
Her tone was filled with blame.
Since Li Ya left and hadn’t returned home, Su Yunjin, who had grown accustomed to his care, felt unsettled.
Hearing her words, Li Ya found them laughable—Su Yunjin was shifting all the blame onto him.
“Su Yunjin, do you not understand me? I have nothing to do with you anymore. Don’t bother me again.”

After saying this, Li Ya was about to hang up, but Su Yunjin’s voice, now tinged with urgency, came through again.
“Li Ya! Jin Xiu Company is in trouble!”
“Luo Shen Group unilaterally terminated the contract. Jin Xiu’s stock plummeted sharply, and many partners canceled their agreements almost simultaneously!”
“This company is something we built together—are you really going to stand by and watch it collapse?”
Hearing this, Li Ya stood stunned.
Once, he had been spirited and eager to fight for a future with the woman he loved. But all of that had been wishful thinking; Su Yunjin was now merely trying to exploit his remaining value.
“This is your own doing and has nothing to do with me.”
“Besides, you always boasted about being a strong woman, saying the company’s success was all because of you. So why come to me now?”
A cold glint flashed in Li Ya’s eyes. In truth, he had been the one to negotiate all the business deals when establishing Jin Xiu Company. Later, the company’s rise to a modest reputation in Luo City was largely due to the full support of Luo Shen Group.
Yet, to better care for Su Yunjin, Li Ya willingly sacrificed his own career.
But Su Yunjin never appreciated this and even claimed all the company’s achievements as her own.
Rejected decisively by Li Ya, an anxious look appeared in Su Yunjin’s eyes. Jin Xiu Company had sailed smoothly for so long; she had never truly faced hardship. This sudden upheaval threw her into complete disarray.
“Li Ya, can you stop being so childish? This isn’t a petty quarrel between us—it concerns the entire company!”
“I’ve told you, Jin Xiu has nothing to do with me.”
With that, Li Ya hung up. Su Yunjin clenched her phone, stomping her feet in frustration.
Beside her, Zhao Qi’an immediately pulled her into his arms with a gentle smile.
“Don’t worry. Leave this little problem to me.”
“Isn’t it just some trouble with Jin Xiu’s partnerships? Our Zhao family will help you through it. Plus, we have partners here in Luo City. If my father gets involved, these issues will surely be resolved.”
Hearing this, Su Yunjin felt reassured, leaning tenderly against Zhao Qi’an.
“Brother Zhao, I’m counting on you this time.”
Zhao Qi’an affectionately rubbed her nose. “Don’t worry. As the highest leader of the Zhao family now, this is nothing.”
“Just didn’t expect Li Ya to be so heartless—ignoring the company’s crisis like this.”
While comforting Su Yunjin, Zhao Qi’an did not forget to take a jab at Li Ya.
“Yunjin, you’ve suffered while I was away. To think you had to deal with such a spineless man.”
“Rest assured, I’m back. As long as I’m here, I won’t let you or Jin Xiu suffer a single scratch!”
Su Yunjin nodded, her eyes full of admiration. She embraced Zhao Qi’an naturally, completely forgetting she had just married Li Ya yesterday.
Unbeknownst to Li Ya, the man who had co-founded Jin Xiu was now seen by Su Yunjin as a lazy and useless man-child...

Li Ya frowned as he looked at the Rolls-Royce parked by the roadside. Luo Shen Group was now under his control, and the unregistered wedding with Su Yunjin was truly over.
He had kicked away the parasitic Jin Xiu Company, but a bigger problem awaited.
“Where... am I supposed to live now?”
Returning to his old home was impossible; everything there made him sick. Living with the old man was out of the question.
For now, he only had Luo Shen Group and a customized Rolls-Royce left.
He couldn’t very well sleep in the car.
At that moment, the clear sound of high heels clicked behind him.
Turning around, Li Ya saw Xiao Yudie, now changed into a different outfit, hobbling toward the parking lot. A faint blush still lingered on her face.
“Young... Young Master...” Xiao Yudie recalled the earlier flirtation in the office and quickly lowered her head, biting her red lips shyly.
Noticing her limp, Li Ya frowned. “What’s wrong with your foot? Didn’t it just get better? Why are you limping again?”
Hearing this, Xiao Yudie blushed deeply. Her ankle was indeed healed, but after Li Ya’s painful massage, her whole body felt weak and sore.
She hadn’t fully recovered yet, which made walking uneven... but she couldn’t bring herself to say this.
“Forget it, you can’t drive like this. I’ll just take you home.”
Seeing her like this, Li Ya shook his head helplessly.
Given the company’s current situation, Li Ya had no intention of intervening, and as the group’s female CEO, Xiao Yudie was undeniably his most important ally.
He didn’t want anything to happen to her.
Xiao Yudie had wanted to refuse but, for some inexplicable reason, found herself agreeing, promptly taking the front passenger seat of the Rolls-Royce.
“Where do you live?”
“In Yunhu Elegant Residence, in the High District.”
Yunhu Elegant Residence was Luo City’s most exclusive villa community, where residents were all wealthy or noble. The cheapest villa there cost tens of millions.
During his courtship with Su Yunjin, Li Ya had dreamed of growing Jin Xiu Company strong enough to one day own a house in Yunhu Elegant Residence...
“By the way, does Luo Shen Group have employee dormitories?”
