In the hospital room, only Yagyu and Ren Xiadong remained—the latter lying on the bed. Ren Xiadong looked at Yagyu, who was seated on the stool beside the bed, and said with concern, “Don’t go tomorrow. They have guns, and we have important matters to attend to. We can’t afford to die here.”

As soon as Ren finished speaking, Yagyu suddenly vanished from the stool. Ren’s eyes widened in shock as he stared blankly at the empty stool, speechless and motionless, unable to comprehend the sudden disappearance—it felt like a dream.

“I’m here,” Yagyu’s voice came from another direction.

Ren slowly turned his head toward the window and saw Yagyu leaning there. Still astonished, Ren looked at him with wide eyes. Before Ren could say a word, Yagyu disappeared again into thin air.

This time, Ren turned back to the stool, where Yagyu had reappeared, sitting calmly and looking at him.

After a long moment, Ren’s astonishment softened, and he said, “So you really can teleport.”

Though he spoke those words aloud, his heart was still reeling. “What the hell is going on? Is Yagyu human or some kind of ghost?” he thought.

“I’m human. Very much alive,” Yagyu replied calmly.

Ren was shocked again, unable to believe Yagyu had somehow heard his thoughts.

“I can hear your thoughts, but I don’t teleport. I can stop time. I can hear people’s inner voices, and I don’t need to see; I can hear every movement with my ears alone,” Yagyu explained evenly.

“I’m a bit overwhelmed... let me catch my breath! It’s like filming a movie!” Ren said, clutching his head.

Seeing Ren’s reaction, Yagyu remained silent.

“I always suspected you had superpowers, but you’re even stronger than I imagined. Any other abilities?” Ren eventually accepted the truth and asked excitedly.

Yagyu didn’t hide anything. “My brain processes information faster than an ordinary person—how much faster, even I don’t know. I have a photographic memory; I instantly understand the principles behind what I see. My physical condition surpasses normal people—I don’t feel fatigue, and my movements are faster, up to a hundred times quicker.”

Ren’s mouth dropped open once more. After recovering from his surprise, he asked, “With all these powers, why are you still tangled up with Huayong Group’s mess?”

“I have these abilities and money, but I’m still dependent on others. People are greedy, and I’m no exception. Once I had money, I wanted power—the kind of power Huayong has. I don’t want to be controlled; I want to control the world,” Yagyu said firmly.

He added, “In this war, Hu Yingqi only has me as an ally. If she wins, I will have at least half of Huayong’s control. Of course, I will firmly support Hu Yingqi.”

“Are you aiming to be her Zhuge Liang?” Ren asked again.

Yagyu thought for a moment and smiled. “Something like that.”

Ren envied Yagyu’s powers and was desperate to learn how he obtained them. But Yagyu couldn’t reveal the secret—it would endanger his life.

“Alright, if you won’t say, never mind. Tomorrow, are you going to dominate the ring? Just imagining your powers in a fight is thrilling!” Ren fantasized, then said to Yagyu.

Yagyu repeatedly emphasized not to let Ren talk about his abilities outside. He revealed them only because Ren had already guessed and because Ren was trustworthy.

Feeling secure, Yagyu said, “I’m not going to the ring to dominate. I’m there for their guns. We can’t get them any other way, so we have to take them.”

Hearing that Yagyu aimed to seize their guns, Ren sat up excitedly despite the pain. Though not fatal, his whole body was battered by Adai.

During the fight, Ren’s defense was solid—no fractures except a heavy blow to the head causing mild concussion. Otherwise, he was fine.

Enduring the pain, Ren sat up with excitement. “Get me one too!”

Yagyu smiled at Ren’s enthusiasm. “Don’t worry, you’ll get yours.”

Soon, under the influence of medication, Ren fell asleep, and Yagyu stayed by his side all night.

Early the next morning, Tian Yun hurried into the room. Seeing Ren still asleep, though anxious, she did not disturb him.

“Is Xiadong okay?” Tian Yun asked Yagyu nervously.

Yagyu shook his head quietly. “He’s fine. Just needs a couple of days’ rest.”

Relieved, Tian Yun scolded Yagyu, “Why did you go to fight illegal boxing? It’s dangerous—you could have died! If something happened to you, what would Tang Xin and I do?”

“How do you know?” Yagyu asked suddenly, surprised that Tian Yun knew about Ren’s illegal boxing and hospitalization.

Then he realized and said, “Oh, right. Old Nine.”

Recalling Tian Yun’s words, Yagyu was stunned. He thought, “Why didn’t I consider this? The path Ren and I chose worries Tian Yun and Tang Xin. I’ll have to hide things better and come up with a good excuse.”

After much thought, Yagyu said, “We only learned martial arts from Old Nine to strengthen ourselves. He said practice is necessary, but we didn’t expect him to take us to such places.”

Yagyu chuckled inwardly, thinking, “I’m so clever—pinning the blame on Old Nine. If anyone complains, it’s his fault, not mine.”

At that moment, Old Nine’s voice came from outside. “Blaming me for everything, huh? You sure fought hard last night!”

Yagyu hadn’t realized Old Nine and Xiao Jia had arrived, and Old Nine surely heard the conversation. Yagyu suddenly felt extremely awkward.

“Strengthening the body is good, but Old Nine, how could you take Xiadong boxing? Look at him—he’s in the hospital!” Tian Yun’s tone grew emotional, waking Ren.

Opening his eyes and seeing Tian Yun, Ren immediately asked, “Tian Yun, what are you doing here?”

“I told her,” Old Nine said again.

Old Nine handed breakfast to Yagyu and Tian Yun. Yagyu ate on his own, while Tian Yun fed Ren bite by bite.

“I can’t stand this anymore!” Xiao Jia teased, watching Ren and Tian Yun’s tender care. Then she asked Tian Yun, “Beautiful Tian Yun, do you have any daughters? Introduce one to me—I’m still single.”

Tian Yun replied casually but focused on caring for Ren.

Ren said to Yagyu, “You must be tired after staying up all night. You should rest. Don’t forget about me tonight—I need you for the guns.”

Ren wanted Yagyu to rest well so he’d have energy later.

As Yagyu prepared to leave, Tian Yun said, “Thank you for taking care of Xiadong. Go rest.”

Yagyu replied, “No problem. You take good care of Ren. I’ll come back later to relieve you.”

After saying this, Yagyu quickly tidied up the leftover food and took out the trash before leaving the room.

Yagyu went home for a nap and reappeared at the underground fighting arena at eight that evening. On the second floor, the boss, smoking a cigar, saw Yagyu arrive and waved to the henchmen nearby, signaling them to bring Yagyu up.

“Our boss wants to see you upstairs.”

“Lead the way,” Yagyu said, glancing at the henchman and then at the smiling boss on the second floor.

They went up, and the boss led Yagyu into his glass-walled office overlooking the arena. Inside, three henchmen polished their pistols. Yagyu smiled—he had come precisely for those guns.

Suddenly, the door opened, and a boxer entered. Seeing Yagyu, he strode up and made a punching gesture to provoke him, ending with an obscene international gesture.

Yagyu grabbed the boxer’s extended middle finger and bent it hard. The boxer screamed in pain.

“Calm down, brother. We’re all here to make money,” the boss hurriedly interjected.

Yagyu released the boxer, who immediately attempted to strike him again but was stopped by the henchmen pointing guns at his head. He raised his hands and said, “I was just joking.”

One henchman remarked, “What’s the use of kung fu when a gun makes you surrender?”

The boss said, “Peace brings wealth. We’re all here for money.”

He tossed cigars to Yagyu and the boxer. The boxer returned his, saying, “Thanks, boss, but we fighters need to keep our bodies healthy. We don’t smoke.”

Yagyu pulled out his lighter, lit his cigar, and took a puff.

The boss laughed loudly at Yagyu’s action. “Masters never fuss over such details!”

Suddenly, the crowd outside cheered. Yagyu looked toward the ring; the matches had begun. The boss explained today’s plan:

Yagyu would enter first and defeat all opponents. Then the boxer would fight Yagyu and defeat him. The crowd would bet on Yagyu to win, and when he lost, all the bets on his victory would go to the boss.

After explaining, Yagyu stepped out. He had a plan too: to win all the fights, anger the boss, who would send henchmen to teach him a lesson—giving Yagyu a chance to seize their guns.

He intended to destroy the arena to prevent future retaliation against his allies, like Tang Xin and Tian Yun.

There was no cage around the ring today. Yagyu jumped in and kicked the two boxers currently fighting, knocking both out of the ring.

“All the fighters come up! One by one is too time-consuming!” Yagyu shouted from the center of the ring.

The audience, doubting he could defeat all, began betting against him.

The boss upstairs panicked, furious. “Why isn’t he following the script? If he loses, we’re ruined! Damn it! If this kid wrecks my plan, you kill him!”
