Chapter 65: Xiao Ling’er Takes Me to a Brothel—Double the Pleasure?
“So, it’s better for Yuning to go with you. This way, she can help clarify the matter…”
Tiger Yuning clearly hadn’t expected her grandfather to say this. She looked surprised, glancing at Ling Tian before lowering her head. How could her grandfather say such a thing? If he wanted to explain the situation, he could’ve done it himself. Given his position, whatever he said would be respected by all. Yet he insisted on sending her along—wasn’t this just providing an opportunity for her to spend time with Ling Tian?
Nervousness mingled with anticipation in her heart.
“If that’s the case, let her come with us,” Ling Tian said, curling his lips in a faint smile but not arguing further. Truly, this was a matter both clans needed to be informed about. Having Tiger Yuning accompany them gave their visit legitimacy. There was nothing wrong with her coming along.
Tiger Yunqing nodded, casting Yuning a meaningful look.
Yuning clicked her tongue softly, chiding him in her heart for his mischievousness.
Before long, everyone had gathered. Phoenix Feather’s gaze inevitably fell on Xiao Ling’er. As she’d suspected, Xiao Ling’er was accompanying Ling Tian.
“Friend Luo, your talent is truly extraordinary! Thank you for your help. When there’s a chance, we must spar,” Tiger Yunqing remarked, looking at Luo Changsheng with admiration. In his youth, his cultivation was nowhere near this level. The urge to test himself against Luo Changsheng grew stronger.
“Compared to then, you’ve already attained the rank of Great Emperor—please show mercy!” Luo Changsheng replied, smiling at Tiger Qingyun. He hadn’t expected such gains from this journey. His eyes flickered with curiosity as he glanced at Ling Tian. How had he managed to heal Tiger Qingyun?
It was truly astonishing—this young man hid too many secrets!
Though he was aware of Ling Tian’s mysteries, Luo Changsheng harbored no ulterior motives. He had a vague sense that if he ever set his sights on Ling Tian, he would only find misfortune.
After a few polite exchanges, the conversation ended. The group set off as before, but now, three more companions joined them.
Fox Immortal, unable to stay idle, bantered and played with Xiao Ling’er, keeping the journey lively. In the end, though, it was Ling Tian who gave her a gentle flick on the forehead to quiet things down.
As night fell, they passed through a bustling city. Phoenix Feather gestured toward a grand, imposing pavilion named Celestial Treasure Hall.
“This is a famous auction house in our Demon Domain, my friend. Care to see if anything catches your eye?”
The name was certainly bold.
“Very well. Afterward, we can find somewhere in the city to rest,” Ling Tian agreed. He was curious about what might be auctioned in the Demon Domain.
There was no entrance fee this time, much to Ling Tian’s relief—it meant no one was being selected for a trial of forbidden love.
Upon entering Celestial Treasure Hall, Phoenix Feather revealed her identity, and they were treated with special respect.
“Such extravagance!” Tiger Yuning muttered, knowing this place well. The rooms were divided by prestige: Heaven, Earth, Profound, and Common, with an additional option to watch from the main hall. Which room you received depended on how much you’d spent there. Naturally, they wouldn’t offer a Heaven-ranked room to someone who hadn’t spent anything. This was a profit-driven establishment; only those who brought them business earned their respect.
And if powerful guests wanted favors? Well, everyone here was either wealthy or noble. If they all pulled strings, how could business continue?
Ling Tian finally understood why Yuning called Phoenix Feather a spendthrift. The items up for auction were all exorbitant, with everything priced in premium spirit stones—sometimes, even entire spirit veins!
Indeed, entire spirit veins made of the highest grade of spirit stones.
Though Ling Tian’s household lacked nothing and such things were insignificant to him, that was then—he was now the Celestial Ling, and he had to admit, these prices were steep. More so, the items weren’t particularly rare, yet their prices soared.
“Are pills always this expensive here?”
Ling Tian was astounded to see a fourth-grade Bloodburst Pill selling for eight premium spirit veins.
Pills were graded from one to nine, with nine being the highest. His mother, Ye Qingwu, was a ninth-grade alchemist!
“Of course. Alchemists are extremely rare here. Rarity increases value, and even those who are alchemists often lack pill recipes, which poses its own problems,” Phoenix Feather explained with a helpless shrug.
Ling Tian nodded in understanding. No wonder his mother was so generous; she truly lacked nothing.
Ling Tian, however, had no intention of offering his alchemical skills to the demon clans, whose loyalties were uncertain. In the end, only Phoenix Feather bought a spiritual artifact; the others found the prices too high. Poor Luo Changsheng, with barely any spirit stones, could only sigh inwardly.
After broadening their horizons, they left Celestial Treasure Hall to seek lodging.
At the inn, Xiao Ling’er noticed Ling Tian seemed dissatisfied. Remembering the lantern-lit, lively streets they’d passed—the hostesses inviting guests with cheerful voices—she recalled how they’d called it “the happiest place for men.”
Ling Tian had done so much for her; without him, she would never have reached the Phoenix Clan so quickly. She wanted to make him happy.
With this thought, she found herself entering Ling Tian’s room.
“I want to take you somewhere,” she said, taking his hand and trying to lead him outside.
Ling Tian told her she could speak her mind here—no one else was around. But Xiao Ling’er insisted on taking him to a particular place.
Unable to refuse, Ling Tian followed.
Not far behind, Fox Immortal, Tiger Yuning, and Phoenix Feather poked their heads out—all curious. Fox Immortal was naturally mischievous, and Phoenix Feather, of course, cared about Xiao Ling’er’s movements.
Unconsciously, they all followed.
Luo Changsheng and Old Yun, seeing everyone else leave, had no choice but to trail after them. After all, they were supposed to be protectors—if everyone left the inn, whom were they supposed to guard?
“Wait—Ling’er, why did you bring me here?”
Ling Tian’s lips twitched as he looked at the large sign boldly proclaiming:
Brothel
He suddenly felt rather out of sorts.
“What’s wrong? I—” Xiao Ling’er began, but before she could explain, two women with swaying waists squeezed her aside.
One on each side, they clung to Ling Tian’s arms, pressing against him, their scent overwhelming.
“What a handsome young man! Come inside with us, and tonight we’ll make you truly happy!”
“That’s right. If you wish, you’re in luck—you can experience double the pleasure…”
